Beach days are upon us, which also means we are seeing an influx of new Hermit Crab owners! These fun little crustaceans can make great pets, and are often sold cheaply on the coast, but unfortunately for them, these vendors sell them in very inhumane setups and many people are not familiar with the care they need and thus, they are almost always destined for a tragically short life.

To help our crabby friends and those interested in providing better care for their new pets lengthy (30-40 years) life, we have complete setups available in store that takes the guess-work out! We would like to thank the 2 young people that showed up at the store tonight after we had closed to find our front door had not latched properly. They went in thinking we were open and after the alarm went off they immediately left the store and called the police. We would like to reward these 2 for being amazing citizens. Please stop in the store and ask for a manager. Thank you!! Here is a picture of their car, they had a cute little black and white dog with them and one has a henna tattoo on their hand. We don't want to post their picture without their permission. If you are these customers or know who they are please come see us!!

It has been brought to our attention that someone had posted on a local page about an incident that happened in our store between 2 dogs. This person is claiming their dog was attacked at the store by an unleashed dog that was training. The dog was NOT bitten. There is full video of the incident from 2 angles that show the dog wasn't bitten. The dog in training simply ran up to the other dog and that dog was scared and reacted. The loose dog was in training, wearing an e-collar and immediately responded when the owner called the dog back. We like to allow people the opportunity to use our store for such training. The owner of the dog that was allegedly bitten has not seen the video footage nor have they asked to. They are basing their accusation on what they think happened as both humans were not looking at either dog when the incident took place. We are a dog friendly establishment and frequently have customers come in with both well behaved and unruly dogs. We will be posting a notice on our door stating that there may be unleashed dogs in training. We welcome any and all dogs but if your dog is reactive or fearful we ask that you check in with staff at the front counter and ask before bringing in a reactive dog and let us know once you have entered our store so that we can make incoming customers aware so their dog will remain leashed and give you the space you need to work with your dog.

Let's see if we can help this amazing rescue!

It's $5 Friday again.
Yesterday was a tough day.
Little Beau our newest rescue in KY broke with parvo and was admitted to the hospital. He was given the new shot monoclonal but it is expensive as is hospitalization for a pup in isolation. We will update once we hear a report on how he is doing.

Cloudia 2 arrived last week and we had noticed a bloody discharge. Ultrasound confirmed she has a bad infection from her spay. We are hoping that antibiotics will help and she will not need further surgery.

Our medical bills are piling up and we sure could use some help.
For those of you who continue to support us thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

If we could get our followers to each contribute $5 we could pay off these mounting vet bills. Every little bit really does add up and helps so much.
