The most common thing I hear when someone is discussing dog training with me is:
*My dog already knows sit or down and I donāt think I shouldnāt have to pay for it or they already know these commands so can you toss in a couple items from your advanced package?
I understand you may think they have the necessary skills in those commands for training, but I promise you. 99.9% of the time they do not unless theyāve have received previous training from someone else. Yes, Iām sure your dog will run over to you and sit when thereās food or something involved in the house, but make no mistake. This is begging, and theyāre tossing out random things to āpleaseā you and get some in return. However, the second we take them out of the housing involvement and have them somewhere with distractions. Your pup would gladly run off to play. Packages are generally built to provide a moderate to high level of competency in skills that compliment each other and are necessary your dogs future success.

Enzo has gained so much confidence and you can see the changes daily. Sometimes heās unsure of people and dogs, but weāve managed to give him a calmer walk by showing him he can look to us. We will be his guide, and he can look to us whenever he needs more direction.

Welcome RooRoo! RooRoo is here for our 20 day board and train package. Learning some basic mannerisms and how to be a calmer pup in public ! RooRoo will often go with her mom and dad on long drives for work and therefore often may spend some time in a hotel. So itās important that she understands how to greet people and dogs out in public.

Koko is here starting officially tomorrow for our 10 day board and train package. Weāre looking to achieve a more calm lifestyle and less destructive when out and about inside the home. Truth: Weāre always posting videos of the amazing outcomes of our training and what weāve achieved so far. Sometimes itās āpicture perfectā. What you donāt see is the minute before this when Loch went a little bit crazy over this dog running at the fence and barking.
Some of us adopt dogs without knowing their ancestry or genes. Then we struggle to try and change their natural instincts. This is Lochlyn, one of my dogs. He has nine siblings. He has been socialized since he was old enough to interact with others. He is with me every day, working with the other dogs. He has encountered all kinds of breeds. Yet, his instincts still show. If someone enters the house without me nearby, he will bark loudly. He is guarding his home. When we go for walks, he will try to bark back if a dog is acting crazy nearby. You should without a doubt work on some of these behaviors, like leash reactivity. But for the barking at people outside and new arrivals at home, you can manage it, but you have to accept it. This is their nature (GSDs). This is what you signed up for. All breeds have their own natural behaviors engraved in them.

Treadmills are the one of the best ways to keep your dog active in the winter time. Slat Mills are extremely awesome because your dog can control their speed and when they are done. All they need to do is simply stop.

Hello all,
Due to many pups at other facilities being diagnosed with a new fast spreading virus. We are going to require all customers to resend their updated vaccine records (if it has been more than 30 days, those will be considered out of date)
Weāre also going to double up on our cleaning efforts, utilizing KennelSol, ect. to ensure all pups are safe and healthy as they come play our stay with us. If youāve recently traveled with your dog(s) or have exposed your dog(s) to large groups (dog parks, groomers, family gatherings) Please try to avoid additional exposure/dog contact for the 2 weeks leading up to boarding dates.

Weāve had two pups move their training from December to February due to last second emergencies. Therefore, weāre offering (2) last second board and train discount.
(21) day or (3) week board and train programs for the first two booked in December will be $1200.

Just a few of my amazing training pups from this morning. Full of activities.... and FUN. How can you expect it to always be comply without a little bit of fun in their lives.
Well.. today is the day. 10 Days... that's all we had together to build some new behaviors, some excellent leash walking, calm place commands and more. Now it's time to go home and show mom and dad what you got.
Cece is headed home today! I canāt wait to see what family takes her in and loves her. Sheās such a special dog. Full of energy and a crazy drive. #causeforcanines
Cisco and Callie ! Working on our continued understanding of leash pressure and understanding. Including our sit/down and stay commands :). Callie has been super stubborn but we finally made a break through and sheās moving along .
Ralo is coming a long way on his walks. Still has a hard time walking at a slower pace but this is extremely unnatural for a dog. His normal steps are me walking at a decent pace. So imagine being forced to slow down even more. However, heās responding to leash pressure in the right way and fully understand whatās being asked when outside of his boundaries.
Cece! Cece will be here for our 10 day program! Cece comes to us from @cause_for_canines where she is currently placed with her foster family, and looking for her forever home. Scout goes home in just a couple days and Iām seriously proud of her. Sheās doing great. Finally getting over some of the nervousness over people and things out in the world. She has a great foundation to build on and I canāt wait to see how much further she goes.
Just working on some of your basics before heading out of our field trip. Sit/stay- recall to left heel - down/stay :)
Working on some loose leash exercises with RooRoo and Rollo! Learning to read each other and share some calm energy out and about.
Letās talk about leash pops for a minute. With all the videos out of here of people pulling a stuffed animal across the room to offer you a ānon-pullā harness, I feel like more needs to be said. This is RooRoo, and me and RooRoo have a great line of communication. She understands that we want no tension on the leash during our walk. Youāll noticed that although the ring of the training collar is at the middle of her neck(back side) that the snaphook and slack of the training collar is loose and down. This is an our indicator of a proper walk. Once we see tension, and need a correct. We prefer a quick and effective leash pop. Notice that I said quick, and not powerful. The goal here is to break her attention and put her back on the right track, not pull her back . This happens within seconds and we go right back to our non-tension walk. Remember that dog training is an insane and crazy world with a lot of incorrect information. Itās not the tools that are dangerous for dogs, itās the user and lack of training to establish a clear line of communication.
