Moonshine ❤️

Moonshine is a 4 yr old mule that is super affectionate and sweet. Shes been started correctly and lemme tell you..this girl can do anything. Shes been roped off of, pulled cows, trail ridden everywhere and anywhere. Shes great on the ground, and with other horses. This mare will be the real deal, great ranch prospect for someone to finish. Already has the buttons just needs to be finished.

Juice is a 9 yr old 16.1h APHA that’s a been there done that type. Forward mover but juniors have shown him consistently. Been shown in the hunters and jumpers and eventing. A solid finished horse that’s safe. He can go English and western and has a phenomenal jump and a big step.

Secret 🤫

Secret is a 6 yr old 16h warhorse, won a bunch on the track and retired sound. Her connections boasted about her and they weren’t wrong. Nothing phases this girl, she’s got floaty movement and a stunning face.

Unicorn alert 🦄

Clifford 🐕

Clifford is a 10yr old 16.3h TB, who is literally everything that you would think of when your hear Clifford.

He had a successful race career, now has gone on to have a successful hunter jumper career. This is an actually packer, this horse will pack your grandma over a 3ft jump and make sure they both get to the other side. Hes done the short stirrup, to the 2’6, to the 3ft and has taught little’s how to ride in between.

He’s auto everything, he’s super easy on the ground and is a gentlemen at all time. He has one of the best personalities and absolutely can take the biggest joke and best of all has zero stop and is absolutely unflappable.

Horses like this don’t come around too often!

Tigger is a 16.1h 5 yr old registered appaloosa that has been started correctly and is ready to finish your way. He has three lovely gaits that take a lot of ground, he’ll have no issue keeping up with the strides in hunters, he’s game enough for the rodeo world, he’s adjustable and has zero stop in him unless asked. He’s been schooling 2ft as he just turned 5, dosent care about fill, gates, wierd looking distance’s.

Tigger is as safe as they come! Trail rides anywhere and everywhere, not spooky at all. He’ll stand in the cross ties and ground tie anywhere and everywhere. He has a fun, goofy personality and loves to be loved on. He’s an absolute phenomenal horse who has so much potential for anyone to finish out the way want! I

This a realistic read, it’s such a sad thing that I hope never comes to fruition.

Are horses going to be a thing of the past?

When I was younger, many more people had horses in their back yards. Kids could spend the day at the barn, or the summer for that matter. Not always much supervision. But lots of fun

Now it’s mostly lessons or organized events. Maybe something kids do a few times a year.

That doesn’t mean there are not kids that take the sport seriously, I just feel like there are less opportunities. More options w other activities. More supervision required and less chance or desire for ownership

In our part of the world prices have skyrocketed. The basics like hay and grain but also farrier and vet. Trying to build a barn can cost as much as a house You have to be fairly committed to own a horse. Then you realize they need a horse friend so now that’s at least two

Many horse owners have left Naples because of the cost and the heat. We are heavily an agricultural states. From tomatoes and citrus to cattle. I heard a report yesterday we used to produce 80 percent of our county’s citrus but that is now fallen to 17 percent

Our fields are plowed up for homes and new towns. Ranches are being converted to enormous developments. 5 acres a home and a small barn will set you back $1million Board is $1000-1500 in most places here. It’s the natural cycle of things for costs to increase but at what point are horses just priced out?

In 20 years where there still be a place for the horse?

Remember to keep your horses cool in this heat wave!

Ride early in the morning or in the evening & even then watch the humidity to make sure! If you happen to ride during the day, try and hose off your horse for at least 20 minutes to ensure proper cool down.

This program specializes in eventers, hunters, and dressage horses, however we work with all disciplines and all types. Horses are schooled 5 days a week with an emphasis on kindness and willingness to build a partnership.

This mare 🥰❤️ I absolutely love her. Almost 2 weeks back in full work and she’s blossoming.

I’m gonna break it down, in this video- she looks annoyed cause she was lol. She looks semi easy right? One thing I’ve learned training horses is I can make it look easy. But you don’t see how hard I’m bracing my core to stay upright cause she’s leaning so hard into my hands. You don’t see my inside leg (thigh) putting pressure on a constant to keep her semi straight. You can’t see my outside leg going a little back to use my calf from pushing her hip to the outside. You cant see me put my outside elbow back to use my half hault. So many little things you don’t see.

So pro tip, when you’re looking at horses to buy - remember they look great in that video. When you buy it and bring it home ask the trainer the little things. Ask them what aids they’ve used on the horse so you can use them and tweak them how you see fit. 🥰
