Meet Faith, our lovable 3-year-old pup! 🐾❤️ This friendly girl is incredibly food motivated and knows commands like “sit.” She walks well on a leash and appears to be housetrained. Though she’s a bit shy at first, Faith quickly warms up to new friends. Faith enjoys being petted, loves her belly rubs, and has a warm energy that shines through, even if she’s feeling a bit anxious. She’s great with kids and other dogs and prefers calm playtimes. Faith also adores sunbathing and chewing on her favorite bones. Are you the loving and calm family Faith is hoping for? 🏡💖

Thanks to our Walk sponsor , we’re able to care for homeless pets like Faith for as long as it takes to get them adopted 🙏

Hi, I’m Layla and I’m Doc’s Dog of the Week for Big 105.9. Can I come live with you? Sadly, I was given up because my owner lost his home and had nowhere to live with me. He wanted me to have a safe and loving home, so now I’m patiently waiting for someone to adopt me. I’m 3-years-old and 50 pounds and I know some basic commands. I enjoy playing with toys, so please make sure I have a toybox full of them. If you’re looking for a spirited gal, with a warm disposition, then I’m the gal for you. The dog walkers at the shelter enjoy taking me out and say that I’m very loving and deserve a home where I can be spoiled. If you have a dog with a similar energy level, I think we could be best buds. So, what do you think? Can I be your new family member?

To meet Layla (ID 640749) or any other pet complete the pre-adoption application at www.humanebroward.com and then stop by the Humane Society of Broward County located at 2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL. The adoption kennels open daily at 11 a.m. and appointments are not required. If you have a question, call 954-989-3977 ext. 6. Can’t adopt, but want to help? You can donate on-line or visit the shelter’s Pet Boutique located in the shelter lobby to get your four-legged friends some goodies. Need a microchip or vaccines for your pet? Visit the website to learn more about these services.

Fact: Despite how it can sometimes feel when you're trying to sleep and your cat is bouncing off the walls, they are not nocturnal. Instead, they are crepuscular, which means they are most active at dawn and dusk. Why? Because these are the times of day most suitable for hunting prey, so it's a behavior inherited from their wildcat ancestors.
