The empty shelter project is awesome. I wish we could get them to come to Dayton or Liberty one time or a few times

Today’s event is underway providing free spay/ neuter, vaccines and microchips to community members helping keep pets and people together.

We are in the Huffman area (Northeast Harris County) which is known as one of the highest for homeless pets and communities in need of vet services to help keep pets with their owners.

We have over 350 pets on site getting free services at no cost to their owners and you can help support your community members and pets by supporting the next event!

FREE SPAY AND NUETER FOR THE PETS OF ANYONE WHO CAN MAKE IT TO LAURELS HOUSE (yes, including residents of Liberty County)

Laurels House is an awesome animal welfare nonprofit. They have a mobile spay and neuter vehicle from which they do free spay and neuters every day. It is typically located at 3830 Greenhouse Rd, Houston, TX 77084 unless they have an event scheduled elsewhere

To get your pets fixed with them you will need to go to their website at (https://laurelshouse.org/) and read their spay & neuter program page and their FAQ page. And then you will need to fill out their spay and neuter request/surgical admission form and they will get back with you and tell you if you are qualified, if you are they will schedule the appointment and let you when it is.

You can get up to 4 pet animals fixed at one/each time

At the time of the appointment, they will also get your pet up to date on its vaccine shots and will also microchip your pet/s, ALL FOR FREE).

Here how it works. You have to give them a deposit of $25 at the time of scheduling for each pet scheduled to be fixed. After the procedure is done, when you pick up your pet, they will give you your $25 back and give you the option to donate that $25 (or more) back to them so that others can get their pets fixed for free.

Lexy and her Little Paws Rescue took in three kittens that Brat Hilton rescued. All three of the kittens had upper respiratory infections. Yesterday Lexy took the kittens to Dr Hall and spent $190 on them treating the respiratory infections and eyes. She now owes Dr Hall $300, and donations have been low. And as soon as the upper respiratory infections are gone in the kittens two of them are going to have to have an eye removed. And that's going to be expensive.

So Lexie could really use some financial help right now, if you can throw a few dollars her away.

This comes at a bad time because Lexy was already needing to get some bulk vaccines and other supplies for her little kitten rescue operation. I know times are tough and money is low for everyone, but if you can throw a few dollars her way at this time, please do so. Thank you very much.

I just signed up to volunteer for this free spay and neuter event in Huffman Texas on the 10th of next month put on by the empty shelter project. And they still need a lot of volunteers if you would care to volunteer to do something to help the dogs and cats and people that own them. The need is great.

We need volunteers of all kinds! You can be on the front line, working with dogs and cats. You can be back office support. Or you can be part of our pack washing team, which can usually be found rocking out to great music while they wash, sanitize, pack and autoclave instruments for surgery.

All of my friends in dog and cat rescue say there are now more unwanted dogs and cats getting dumped and getting euthanized in shelters and rescues, than ever before. We are in the middle of a massive crisis of unwanted and homeless pet animals, and it is only going to get worse as the worse the economy gets worse - SO PLEASE GET YOUR PETS FIXED.

This versatility allows us to reach pet owners who would otherwise not be able to access spay/neuter services.

We are in need of repairs to our unit to continue working hard for our community. Our greatest need right now is a new on board generator to keep us running.

So far in 2022 we have performed over 3000 free spay/neuter surgeries!! Can you help us keep our momentum going?
