Vintage DEW.
Here is a litter that we had many years ago, 12 years to be exact, out of our beloved Duroc Ginger, that basically put us on the show pig map.
Some youth back then, adults now, will remember when we took her to a jackpot show in North Florida, and a group of people tried to buy her for a few hundred bucks at 60 lb.
She won her class, and then before we left the building their offer was up to $1,500 and we turned it down knowing that she had some breeding potential!..... And my gosh did she!
Unfortunately, Ginger passed away about 5 years ago during our microtoxin issues that we had on the farm.
One thing is for sure, there will always be a duroc at Macon Dew Show Pigs in memory of Ginger.
2 AM and still going at it in the farrowing barn.
Honestly, I still do love it! I just don't know when I'm going to schedule some time for sleep.

We had a great day out here this morning selling show pigs, the rain moved in a little bit but we work through it, every kid bought a show pig for either 200.00 or 225.00

We had breakfast donated by Dunkin' Donuts, a lot of drinks on ice.
I would like to thank all my help and a few visitors that pitched in to help from Suwannee County.
Folks, it takes a lot of friends and good friends to put on an event like this, and I sure do appreciate every single one of you that supported me on sale day as well as all throughout the year.
We scholarship five show pigs this sale day, this means a lot to me personally that I'm able to do this, it is a passion of mine to light that spark in these young people's lives and keep them interested in agriculture.
Please keep me informed on your projects, don't forget by Wednesday evening it's going to be pretty cold out get them heat lamps ready and protect these pigs from the elements.
