The MISSION of Dinwiddie County Animal Control is to humanely enforce Dinwiddie County Ordinances and laws Commonwealth of Virginia, as they pertain to domestic animals and the public's health, safety and welfare. To serve the citizens of Dinwiddie County by enforcing those laws and ordinances, and to educate the public concerning the ordinances, their importance to the community and animals, and

not to punish, or assume the responsibility of the court system. To strive toward the reduction and prevention of animal-related problems in the community through reasonable and responsible application of education, warning/citation system, and the impoundment of domestic animals. DUKE HAS COME HOME!

MISSING!!

Havi is missing from her home in the 6500 block of Squirrel Level Road near the train trestle. Havi decided to run off chasing a deer but has not returned. She was wearing a black training collar when she went missing. If you have seen her please message here. Her family is looking for her.

TEMPLETON!!!!

This sweet old man needs a forever home! He is an absolute gem!

Listen! This old man was found eating trash and living on the road. We don’t know where he came from or why he was discarded. We do know he is nearly perfect. He appears house broken. He runs in the yard then comes to the door “knocking” to get back inside. He willingly goes to his kennel when it’s time. He is a good size and has put on weight perfectly. His tail wags non stop. He is a happy boy that wants attention.

Please share Templeton. He deserves a forever home. He deserves a cushy bed. He deserves lots of head pets and lots of extra treats.

Check out how good this boy looks now.

Templeton is available for adoption or rescue. His adoption fee is $75. Share him so we can get him a home for Thanksgiving!

WHO IS LOOKING FOR A BRONCO?

Well we have one for you! This cutie was owner surrendered to us today due to no fault of his own. You see, he was found a couple months ago near Cattail Lane. They kept him safe but can’t keep him forever. He is a super social boy and sweet as can be! We think he is about 6-7 months old and a mix of who knows what.

Do you want to be his forever? Come on in and visit! He and his dog friends are waiting.
We will be open on Monday and Wednesday 9-4 and Tuesday, Friday and Saturday 9-3. Bronco’s adoption fee is $75 which helps pay for his rabies vaccine and neuter.

BAILEY HAS BEEN FOUND AND IS HOME!!!!

This pretty hound is missing from her home on Wilkerson Road near the sharp curve at the end. Her name is Bailey and she isn’t quite a year old yet. She is a sweet girl.

RETURNED TO OWNER !!!

STRAY ALERT!!!

Anyone missing a scruffy beagle? Naw…it isn’t really a beagle but a citizen found a scruffy tri colored dog today and brought it to the shelter late. We know it has a collar but there was no ID on the collar. We know it has a microchip but due to the late hour of dropping it off we haven’t called to find the owner…BUT we wanted to put it out there in case the owner is looking.

Sadly Milo was found deceased after being hit by a car. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. 😔

MISSING!

Milo is missing from the area of Cox Road near Baltimore Road. He is a Merle pittie boy and his family misses him! He left home with out his collar yesterday evening and has not returned. Please message here or call the animal shelter at 804-469-4547, if you have seen him.
