Welcome to Once Upon a Mischief Rattery! We are a Fancy Rat Breeder located in Western New York state. Dwarfs & Standard Sizes. Standard coats & Harley.

We focus on healthy beautiful rats with amazing temperaments! Our main focus is Dumbo Siamese, though we also breed Black, Minks, Russian Blues, & Silvermane (D'Argent). Unmarked & Markings of Variegated, Berkshire and Irish. We do not have a wait list, but instead an open approved adopter list. Reservations for rats are first come first serve to approved adopters.

My newest project pink rats! 🥰

These little Siamese Dwarf ladies were dyed safely using opawz pet shampoo dye in vivid pink. Perfectly healthy and safe to use. I would never use something harmful on them .

With having so many Siamese dying them is a safe way to tell them apart easily and allow them to stay with their bonded family!

I dye my dog often. Pic of my dog for tax as well lol

Moms are doing great with so many babies! The sisters are sharing the duties. Though Everytime I open their cage they try to escape over to the boys cage, which I tried telling them that is how they ended up with all these babies to begin with 😂😂

My other Siamese Dwarf momma had her litter the other day! 8 babies! My largest dwarf litter had been just a mere 5 before this. She didn't even look pregnant so idk where she was hiding them all 😂

No sound because the entire time my puppy was at the gate to the room crying her head off because she couldn't get to me and I was baby talking the babies lol

Please if you are going to purchase a cage read my website on approved cages. I have had many people purchase a cage which is not suitable and then they have a worthless cage and I have to deny them. Crittertrails are not suitable for dwarfs or any animal.

Dwarfs and momma 🥰 They are so tiny and adorable. Dwarfs steal my heart!

It's so silly seeing a momma dwarf. Her babies are huge compared to her! Watching her nurse them makes me laugh at the oddity of how big they are and little she is! Baby dwarfs are the same size as standard babies until around 4 weeks old give or take. She gave me two Siamese and three Marten. 4 girls and just one lone boy. All dwarf. Two weeks old and just opening their eyes. Not the best video, she kept trying to escape up my arm lol would rather sit on me or she wanted a break from the babies perhaps lol!

Dumbo Tonkinese Satin 2 🥰 Not everyone is a fan of satin but I love it! I think they look adorable

Sorry for being MIA lately! I've been quite busy and was on a vacation visiting my family. I will be responding to messages and emails soon! Thank you all for your patience! My wait-list is currently closed and full. But early next year it should reopen. I will be pairing new litters this month and next. These beautiful Marten babies, some of which are down under. Will be available to those on my wait-list next month. Though only a pair or two as she had quite a small litter. Updates will be coming shortly!

Our passion is color points, with a focus on Dumbo Siamese, in Standard Size and Dwarf. We breed several different lines and varieties though, including:

Black, Russian Blue, Blue, Russian Silver Burmese, Sable Burmese Tonkinese Black Eyed Siamese Marten Spotted Tabby (Marble) D’Argent (Silvermane) BEW Roan Frost Variegated, Blaze, Self/Unmarked, Irish Standard Coat, Harleys, Velveteen and Harley-Velveteen Dwarfs & Standard Size

Almost all of our rats are Dumbo eared, but we do sometimes have standard ear.
