Karma’s first combo
Hay y’all!! Remember little Karma from our first Equine Comeback Challenge? We’ve done a lot of different things - trails and cows and lessons for kids and more - and just this year we came back to jumping! So here’s Karma - not so little any more - in the back yard doing her first combo... and of course it happened that we’re bareback! Yay Karma!!
Karma out on a winter trail 🤠🐴
We did about 7 miles in a couple of hours - trail, road, technical, walk, jog, trot. She didn’t even break a sweat. Such a good Karma girl.
Lily, getting her groove on with Be 💜
The rain got us just a bit, but we danced in it. 🦄
Nap time for Karma. I rubbed her to sleep. 💖🐴
DAY 6, RIDE 4 - GABI
This little mare is doing absolutely amazingly! This was her first ride without a person on the ground in the arena. Reversing at the trot, leg and weight yielding, obstacles... She's getting all ready for her first ride with her new momma on Saturday. 💖🐴✨
WATCHING HORSES EAT IS MEDITATION!!! Watch this 1 minute video, and see if you don't feel more calm and relaxed. Share it on your page, to relax your friends, and yourself, any time! 💖✨🐴
Karma did great in her first ever cow class!! We had an awesome time, even though we finished at the bottom of the group this time. I am so proud of this little girl!!
And oh my goodness! Thank you everyone for all your support!! Wow! We feel the Love!!!
Trail class at 8am tomorrow!
Really, mom? Through there? OK...

Teaching Your Horse to go Bridleless
This will probably be the last installment before the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo this weekend... so if you want to keep seeing more, be sure that you have liked and followed our page, Soaring Spirit - Equulinguistics.
As you can see, in this clip, we have dropped down to a naked horse, save for the leadrope around her neck.
You want to make sure that, as you progressively train your horse in this way, she (or he) is in a comfortable, relatively fear free environment each time you step up to the next level. Allow your horse to begin with their most comfortable moves from being in a bridle and under saddle, so that small successes come easily, and you can build quickly and concisely.
Also, be sure to include a moment of 'pause' after each exercise, so that your horse can assimilate his (or her) success.
And as always, use your voice commands, weight, and verbal and physical praise to assure your horse they are doing what makes you happy.

Just having some fun at the indoor today... no cameraman, so I strapped the iPhone to a post for a different view.
Karma and I have prepared for this upcoming weekend 's #EquineComebackChallenge pretty darn well. I am so excited to be a part of this wonderful program, and looking so forward to the Challenge and the Expo this weekend!!!
Come on down and watch us move cows, ride a reining pattern, compete in a trail class... and if we do really well, we'll also get to show off our freestyle!!!
See you there!
Another installment on the 'Taking your Horse Bridleless' series.
In this clip, you can see that I have Karma in just a halter, with the leadrope attached to the halter in the appropriate place from which to lead, as well as looped under her neck.
You need to be fairly gentle with the rope around your horse's neck - it is their throat, and if you pull too hard you can cause physical damage. You want to support your weight commands with use of the leadrope attached to the halter, while you begin to familiarize your horse with the leadrope cues on their neck.
Always reinforce all your training with voice commands and verbal and physical praise.
Happy trails!
