Dear clients and friends!!
I wanted to post an update to let everyone know that due to my illness and environmental hazards, I was forced to close Golden Dog Grooming Company at the 2 North Rd East Windsor location. The future of my company is unsure as my medical condition continues to affect my daily life. If you have been trying to reach me for appointments I apologize for the lack of response but it has been a very trying end of 2023 and a rough beginning to 2024. I have faith in my recovery but it is unfortunately taking much longer than expected! I miss all of your dogs very much and can only hope I get to see them all real soon!

Dear Clients and friends,

Due to serious illness and escalating health concerns, I am being forced to cancel all of my appointments until further notice!😢 If you have an appointment with me in the upcoming week, I will be reaching out tomorrow to be sure everyone is notified. It is breaking my heart to have to do this, but it is beyond my control! I am working with medical professionals to get well as soon as possible so I can get back to taking care of all my furry friends!!

First time puppies require a lot of training on the grooming table. They should be started at 12 weeks just after the first Rabies vaccination. I recommend doing a puppy orientation for the first groom to desensitize them before having a full haircut. After puppy orientation the first haircut can be done 2-4 weeks later.
Training puppies on the grooming table takes a lot of time and patience. First visits may take longer and cost more in order to start puppy off right and not become overwhelmed. A proper start to their grooming career is essential as they will have to deal with it the rest of their lives.
Owners can help by touching and lightly squeezing each toe during snuggle time. Putting your fingers in their ears, touching your puppy all over. I also recommend that owners use an old electric toothbrush and run it over the puppies body and the bottoms of the feet to get them used to the sound and feel of a clipper.
The key elements to training a first time puppy on the grooming table are soft silly voices, low relaxed energy, confidence so puppy feels safe and even a little song. Starting young and keeping a regular schedule will prevent anxiety for your dog and you when it comes to dropping them off for their spa day!!❤️🐶
P.S. Harper is a girl🤭 when I go into puppy training mode I don’t really know what I’m saying🤷‍♀️🤣

Starting September 2023, Golden Dog will be opening the schedule to new dogs, 50lbs and under, who wish to be on a yearly schedule of 8 weeks or less. These spots go fast so call now to book the rest of 2023 and 2024. Secure your spot to insure your dog gets the best care!! Fridays and Saturdays are extremely limited, spots for new clients available in October.
