"Hi. My dog just very easily escaped from the dog beach. You have one side that is only rocks but many dogs climb rocks really easily. Mine wasn't even slowed down. She saw a bird and went for it. There was no way to get to her except to scale the rocks myself and drop down on the other side and then carry 40 pounds of wet dog back to the gate to get our stuff. All this to say - is there any way to put more of the wood and wire fencing on one or other side of the rocks on the south side of the beach? ...." City of Evanston Parks & Recreation

The Evanston Police Department is continuing to investigate last night’s shooting incident at Clark Street Beach.

Sheridan Road is open but the Dog Beach and portions of the park around Clark Street Beach remain closed to the public. Please avoid this area.

We will communicate via this e-newsletter when the Dog Beach reopens. For additional updates, follow the Evanston Police Department on Twitter .
