Helping your pet feel comfortable taking liquid medication: easy as 1, 2, 3!
Not us! Schedule your pet a fear free visit with us and experience the difference of low stress veterinary care ♥️🩺
Last month we mentioned scratch boards - a low stress alternative to traditional nail trims - and today you get to see one in action! In this video, one of our technicians is introducing her dog Charlie to his new scratch board. He picked it up in just minutes!
So how does it work? The top of the board is covered in a sandpaper-like material that mimics the concept of a nail file, so each time Charlie scratches at the board, he's filing his own nails! And each time he scratches, the scratching motion is reinforced (rewarded) by opening the treat compartment for him to gobble up the hidden treats, motivating him to scratch again and again.
If your pet is uncomfortable having their nails trimmed with traditional nail clippers, try an at-home scratch board!
These photos were taken during Boomer's hospital stay with us for his neuter surgery. We prioritize a low stress experience for all of our surgery patients, and for this handsome fella that meant replacing kennel time with office time. He felt more comfortable in an open space, so that's what we provided him with! This is just one example of the many accommodations we make for our surgery patients to keep them as comfortable as possible. By remaining flexible in our approach to care, we're able to meet the individualized needs of each of our patients 🥰
If your pet has a surgery coming up at our office, you can rest assured they will be in great hands!
Happy visits are a great way to help your dog feel more comfortable in a veterinary setting!
Happy visits are quick, just-for-fun trips to the vet office during which your dog gets to sniff around, eat treats, get love and then go home! This builds a positive association with the vet office and helps to reduce fear during future healthcare visits.
Jax has been doing happy visits with us since he was a tiny puppy and as you can see, now as an adult he struts right through our doors, comfortable and excited to greet our team!

When it comes to parasite prevention...
...WE ALWAYS RECOMMEND GIVING IT 😋
Skipping parasite prevention is a big no no! Any lapse in prevention, even by just a couple weeks, leaves your pet vulnerable to deadly diseases transmitted by parasites like ticks and mosquitos.
These pesky parasites are especially active during these warm summer months so it's that time of year to make extra certain your pet is current on their flea, tick and heartworm prevention!
There are lots of different variations of parasite prevention including oral, topical and injectable. Call our office to discuss what parasite prevention is right for your pet!
If you are an active, current client of ours, you can refill your pet's parasite prevention through our online pharmacy:
