Location
Located in Fallon, Nevada, Western Nevada Veterinary Services proudly services mixed animal cases. We are located 60 miles east of Reno, Nevada, and 75 miles from Lake Tahoe. Fallon’s landscape mainly consists of farmland and desert flats that have interruptions of mountain ranges. From sand dunes to caves, whiskey tastings to picking your own produce, there are so many activities for everyone to enjoy!
Practice Overview
Western Nevada Veterinary Services is a mixed animal practice that opened its doors in 2014. Our Mission, “Is to provide excellent patient care with optimum client communication and service to create a positive veterinary client/patient relationship.” We are dedicated to maintaining a positive work environment and feel that teamwork is the foundation for success. Our team is a small, close-knit family who works well together as well as are always welcoming to needed changes and growth.
What You’ll Be Working On
●Maintain a high level of client communication and patient care
●Maintain a positive work environment and promote teamwork
●Contribute by delivering high-quality care to our patients
●Engaging and communicating with clients to deliver excellence in service
●Primary job functions include surgical prep, dentistry, venipuncture, and IV catheter placement
●Assist the doctor start to finish with patient treatments, procedures, and animal restraints
●Perform clinical laboratory procedures to assist in diagnosis and treatment
●Administer anesthetics or sedatives to control pain under the direction of a doctor
Qualifications
●Bachelors degree in an area related to animal science or Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology required
●Be a licensed veterinary technician in the state of Nevada required
●Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a licensed veterinary technician preferred, new graduates encouraged to apply
●Ability to be flexible with scheduling which includes working rotating weekend shifts
●Excellent verbal and written communication skills
●Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
●Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and continuous learning
●Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
●Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
●Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
