Rachel Bradshaw has passed away today, without her beautiful smile and amazing dog grooming skills the dog barber will be closing permanently so all appointment s are cancelled. If you're looking for a puppy please do your research & buy from a responsible, reputable breeder ♥️ Reputable breeders will do proper health testing in addition to vet checks. Both parents should have all relevant tests that are appropriate for their breed. The AKC website lists the recommended tests by breed online. The Orthopedic Foundation for Animals manages the database of test records. (OFA.org) In general, they fall into the following categories: Hip scoring, Elbow grading, Eye testing, Hearing tests, Thyroid tests, Heart testing, and DNA testing. Reputable breeders do meticulous planning and rigorous screening of potential puppy owners. Additionally, responsible breeders always agree to rehome or take back a dog of theirs if the owner can no longer keep it. You should be allowed to see the Mom, Dad, and pup's living conditions. If the person you're interested in buying from acts like you're asking too many questions, doesn't do genetic health testing, and won't take back their puppy for any reason, they probably are not reputable. Buying from a back yard breeder supports puppy mills and the production of unhealthy, unpredictable dogs. They also add to the already over populated shelters since they will not take their dogs back. This article goes into more detail on the subject. 😁

Never assume that a dog came from a reputable breeder simply because it’s purebred.

Sometimes things are not what they seem.
I made this video to show the importance of combing after brushing. It can seem as though a dog's coat is not matted because it's possible to brush just the top part of the coat, leaving the under, not easily seen side matted. Once the coat is shaved down you can really see the severity of the matting at the skin. Always use a comb after brushing to keep your pooch's coat tangle free. ♥️

After being separated from their family, Addie and her brother, Panzer, were found with snare traps around their necks. Panzer managed to find his own way home, but Addie was found teatherd to a tree, alone in the woods. The snares caused very serious and costly injures.
