BACK TO SCHOOL AND ON TO THE 2024-2025 IEA SEASON!🏆🏆🏆

The Interscholastic Equestrian Association allows riders to compete without having your own horse! It’s a great way to prep for riding on a college team. Riders can advance individually or with their team to regional, zone, and national competitions!

Don’t worry if you don’t go to Jackson Academy or St. Andrew’s, you can still join the Winterview Farm team! The only requirement is one lesson a week at Winterview Farm, and riders do not have to compete to be on the team!

Meet Potter! 🪄🧙
Potter is a 23 year old Welsh Pony gelding. His show name is Harry Potter. He is owned by our very own Brittany Short💕
Potter is one of the speedier ponies in our lesson program, and even though he’s small, he’s got a BIG personality!😜
Potter is so much fun to ride and jump, and despite his age, he doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon🐎
He has shown all over the country, from California to Virginia! Potter is a camp favorite. Every week we have kids asking, “can I please ride Potter for camp???”
✨Fun fact, Potter is used in the official USEF Horse/Pony Measurement video that demonstrates how to properly measure a horse or pony!

⭐️IEA CAMP⭐️
This is one of our FAVORITE weeks of the year! It is always jam packed with tons of learning and fun! We covered course walking, boot shining, vitals, anatomy, tack cleaning, and more!
The kids learn that at the barn, team work makes the dream work!👯‍♀️

We can’t wait to start off the competition season with our first show in September!🏆🥇

☀️SUMMER CAMP WEEK 5☀️
Week 5 of summer camp was a huge hit! Seems like every week gets hotter and hotter🕶️, but we still have the best time ever! Every week we take a horsemanship test on Monday and retake it on Friday to see how much they learned. Safe to say this group was our most improved out of all the weeks we’ve had!

☀️SUMMER CAMP WEEK 4☀️

We had a blast this week! It was a hot one, but that’s no problem when you’ve got lots of popcicles and a pool! We especially had a lot of fun with our diving competition🏊‍♀️

Meet Nacho🌮
Nacho is a 20 year old Welsh Pony Cross gelding. His show name is The Whole Enchilada 🌯 He came to Winterview Farm on a lease and we just couldn’t let him leave!
Nacho is great at teaching everything from walk/trot to short-stirrup. Prior to becoming a lesson pony, he had a very successful career in the Large Children’s Ponies and the Large Green Pony Hunters. Pictured here is Nacho with his rider, Gigi Adams, after winning Champion in the Children’s Ponies at WEC Ocala 🏆🥇
✨Fun fact, Nacho and Gigi won the High Point Pony Rider award for MHJA in 2022 🏅

Sad day at the farm yesterday, we lost our Pacman at the age of 28. He was great at instilling confidence in even the most timid of riders, a barn favorite for sure. We will especially miss his famous tongue😋
Thanks Pacman for many years serving Winterview Farm as the most awesome lesson horse!🦄
You will be greatly missed!

We had a fantastic week with some FANTASTIC campers! They soaked up every bit of information we gave them and showed it all off today for their families! We are so proud of the progress they made!
