LUCY’S STORY:
She came through from a lady who said she was pr*****ed. No one realized she has been in this condition for almost a year. Fixed once, then just pushed it in from time to time.

Here are her labs from her avian vet

Lucy is eating well Volkman seeds and Harrison pellets.
Prolapse cloaca, she pooping normally.
Antibiotics and pain medications on board, added probiotics, Rx Biotics, mixed her foods .
We’ll received results Lucy’s bloodwork .

WBC is very HIGH over range.
Lucy 20.0 ( normal range 5.7-13)
PCV HIGH, a bit over range

Chemistries:
Glucose normal range.
Amylase ( inflammation) High, over range: Lucy 706
( normal range 200-500)
Uric Acid ( kidneys enzymes) High ; Lucy 14.5
( normal range 2.9-11)
Bile Acids normal range.
Alpha 2 Globulins LOW
Gamma Globulin High :
Gamma globulin waning immune response, considerations include hepatitis, aspergillosis and chlamydophilosis, or mycobacteriosis.

I’ll know you , risking surgery today ! We’ll finally antibiotics Monday, continuing pain medications.
Boarding Lucy with us throughout Monday. I’ll surgery (re: prolapse cloaca )next Tuesday .

UPDATE 2:

Lucy is not well. Surgery postponed again. Supposed to do surgery this coming Tuesday. Labs were horrifying. She has been left in this condition for a very long time. It’s very sad.

From Leeann- Y’all say a prayer for my sweet girl. 😞 she needs all the prayers she can get right now. I’m praying she can pull through this whole nightmare 😞

UPDATE::
Lucy was seen at the vet on Monday. They did a whole panel of labs and have her back today at the vet filling her with antibiotics. They will keep her until Friday. Surgery is scheduled for Thursday. Everyone please say a prayer.
We did found out she has had a prolapse for 8 months. It was fixed and she ripped out the stitches. The family kept putting it back in but it kept coming out over this time. I DO NOT WANT ANY CRUEL REMARKS. I think money was a factor, I wish we had gotten her sooner. But for now she’s happy, eating well and drinking plenty. And getting her meds, to prepare her for surgery. And her NEW MOMMY is in love with her.

Still looking for their perfect home!

I have 2 GCCs (green cheek conures) up for adoption. There will be a fee, also they will come with everything, cages, stand, feed, etc. here is what the owner has sent about them. They are young and one is a normal and one is a turquoise.

OWNERS INFORMATION ON THE BIRDS BELOW

I'm not sure of their s*x. I have a regular coloration GCC (hatch date 3/8/2021), named Verbena Blair. I call them both "she" just out of habit. She likes to be held and played with most of the day and will usually yell until she's held. She eats well, I've had no issues with her eating habits. She has fresh chop daily, Roudybush mini pellets, food that I buy and cook from Bird Street Bistro, fresh fruit, and a very small portion of seed. Verbena enjoys going out for some sun, but she can fly very well, so she goes out in a small cage.

My other bird is Baby Dunk (hatch date 2/10/2022), she's a turquois GCC. We originally named her Ivy Louise, but somehow "Baby Dunk" stuck. She is a very sweet bird, and not as loud as Verbena. Both love to snuggle, but Verbena is the more "bossy" of the two. When I bought Baby Dunk, she was on an all seed diet and looked a bit shabby. She is looking much better and loves to eat. She's not picky and enjoys all the variety in the food given daily.

They are good cage buddies and share a 5ft X 3ft cage. They have two sleeping hammocks with bird heaters attached at the back opening, but they like to sleep in the same hut. I have found that 6:30pm to 6:30am is the best sleep schedule for them. When I cover them they make sleepy sounds and never yell. Their last vet visit was a couple weeks ago and they were given a clean bill of health. Baby Dunk's wings were clipped pretty closely when we got her, she cannot fly.

My main concern with rehoming is their happiness. I worry that they will not be fed and handled in a way that they're used to.

Elvira is a great guys bird. Loves guys. She’s a scarlet macaw. Doesn’t care much for women at all. But she talks and harnesses and is very smart. Not allot of trouble.

Annie is also a great bird she’s very smart, talks, everybody. Isn’t partial to men or women. She’s a beautiful B&G.

READ IT ALL! I will be taking in 2 senegals that I homed to someone a couple years ago...1 is the dad and the other is the daughter....he is about 19 yrs old and shes like 7 yrs old...I will be needing to find them a home because the lady can no longer care for them...the dad had never been anything other than a breeder when I took them in, I never fully trusted him but he would sit on my shoulder and he seemed to like me...not sure how they will be now, havent seen them in a while...if you know of someone interested that be great 🙂 CONTACT

I had a road trip yesterday and I am not looking to rehome at this time!!!!!
This is the cutest thing a little severe macaw. Not the sweetest but loves my grandson. She is outliving her numbers, her birthday is 8/3/85, she turned 37. Talks and amuses herself well. She was bonded to her daddy who passed away 7 years ago. She wouldn’t bond with the wife or daughter. They reached out to me with her. They have entrusted me to do her the best I can possibly do. As I always do, and will continue. Her name is Nado❤️

Have to give an update on Eleanor! She now only has "moments" of screaming. She's made such awesome improvements this week.

But I still will NOT trust her around ANY of the others. She is terribly jealous and has been biting Bart even.... her ONLY friend!! He got tired of it after about 2 or 3 times and he started going over and hanging out with Spencer🤣🤣🤣🤣
But she has seen me display affection for both herself and Bart while they have been on the cage for and I swear she's vengeful towards him at times because he takes some of her kisses🤣🤣

Today, she started saying she's a "HAPPY GUURL" ❤️❤️❤️❤️

She's been saying she's "been a GOOD GUUURL", but today it has been "HAPPY"😊 so naturally, this makes ME VERY HAPPY INDEED!!
I will say that I am indeed proud of her TRYING... she is trying SO HARD to act right!! Her effort is impressive like Petie's (he toned his screaming down to just basically a growl now, which is just FANTASTIC!!) I have been telling them to use their "LITTLE" voices when they scream out.... if course they get a yell or two when my nerves are COMPLETELY SHOT 🤣🤪🤪🤪🤪

They have both amazed me by listening and doing their BEST to obey! I'm literally astonished at their progression... I'm SO PROUD 👏

They are ALL coming around... Spencer's been sneaking into the bed with me at night...I know this because he leaves me clues (💩) 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thankfully my feet must have been hidden because that African Grey has a foot fettish too!! 🙄But my heart couldn't love that baby any more than I do.... he is just SO ADORABLE!!!
He just started climbing into the bed asking for attention at night. I could just eat him up if he would let me🤣❤️🤣 but I'm patient... it will be in HIS time❤️

Another thing about Eleanor.... tonight, I was vacuuming in the room she was in. Now I am very cautious about doing this because she goes into a FIT!! However, I continued and just basically ignored her screaming. I did ask her to be a GOOD GIRL, and very soon after, she completely STOPPED!! THAT has NEVER happened!!!!😊😊😊🎉I made sure to still have the vacuum in my hand and turn around and tell her she was a GOOD GURRRRL and that I was SO PROUD of her!!
She has grown to LOVE me acknowledging this. It's better than any treat!

Anyways, I just wanted to share the latest and thank you for always being such a great support and advocate for these sentient beings... they are so precious and you are too❤️

I will be downsizing. I’m rehoming all my birds and I won’t be taking in near as many as I have in the past. Feed and vetting and gas are getting the best of me. Also people today just think birds should be given away. I’m at an age that I just can’t do what I have in the past. Slowing down for sure 😉 as well as age and my health.

ADOPTED!!!!! Going home today Mac-military macaw she came in terribly plucked and has a skin tag we had surgically removed from her face. Vet checked

I’m in discussions already she isn’t adopted yet but…… on Ally-blue and gold macaw she was having a real plucking issue when arrived. She’s almost fully feathered and is so so sweet. Loved and gets along well with everyone. Ally will actually get right in the tub with you! She loves a shower or bath. She’s so personable.

ADOPTED!!!!! Elvira-scarlet macaw. Partial to men but she has loved women. When she came in she got close to my grand daughter but since has gotten close with grandson and I want her in the best of homes. She can be a handful. I would love to see her adopted by a guy. I wouldn’t trust with children and any women may not be a good fit. She was home but came back because she just was viscous to an experienced macaw woman.

Elvira is up for adoption. She can not have a woman or children in the home. MEN ONLY! She does not like women and I would not trust her around children. She’s ok with pets. But she is strictly a MAN’S BIRD. SEND ME A DM ONLY. She has someone that said he was truly interested and I held her. He obviously isn’t ready.
