I have some bittersweet news — my family will be moving to Georgia in May. 🍑 My husband recently accepted a dream position in Augusta, GA and we are thrilled to be moving home near our family and oldest friends. 😭💜

We moved to Fredericksburg in 2020 after a few stressful and difficult years in Arlington and Alexandria. Fredericksburg has been a place of healing, peace, and the last four years have been magical. 💔 I am heartbroken to leave this city.

Caring for your dogs and getting to know you over the last 9 months has been THE most fun and rewarding experience. I will miss seeing their precious faces, their silly quirks, and their amazing cuddles. Fredericksburg truly has the world’s best dogs! (I hope you don’t mind me stalking your adventures from afar on Instagram!)

🐾 My last day with FXBG Dog Walks will be Friday, April 5. Anyone with unused visits from a bundle will receive a refund if they are not used by this date.

🐾 We will be in and out of town during April and if you need care during that time please feel free to text me. If I’m here and available I would of course love to see your pup.

🐾 Lastly, I am creating a Google folder with all the pictures I have of your pup. I’ll be adding photos over the next few weeks and they will remain there incase you ever want to download them. You can find a link to your pups folder in the email I sent this morning.

If any of you have recommendations for dog walkers or pet sitters, I’d be grateful to know so I can share that information with clients looking for a replacement.

Hi, everyone! 👋 I just wanted to say thank you — the last two months have been nonstop hardship for our family and I’m so grateful for all of your kindness and understanding.

A few days ago I went for a short hike with Dolly to get my mind off things — we stopped to rest for a second and she started rolling around in the grass, soaking up the sun. As she sat up, I spotted a tiny four leaf clover on her back. It felt like a little sign that everything would be okay. So yeah, thanks for being wonderful and thanks for letting me be human. 🥹🍀

My husband is still giving me the cold shoulder for making him watch Saltburn, but other than that we’re over our illnesses and ready to rejoin society! 😁🫡 Excited to see pups this week and hope everyone is doing well. 💜

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmassss! 🎶 I’m sending an email to folks tonight, but this is a reminder that I’ll be away from December 20 - January 7. We may be home earlier than January 7 but we don’t know yet — I’ll be sure to let you know if it’s earlier! Hope everyone has an amazing holiday and hopefully a nice break from the grind. 💜🎄✨

These updates will go into effect this January! I’m happy to answer questions via email or my DMs!

✨ Nothing against flat collars, retractable leashes, etc. I’ve just found that I’m most comfortable and able to safely care for your pup with a front-clip harness and standard leash. I provide my own harnesses and make sure they properly fit your dog — no need to purchase anything new!

✨ Even though many booking times are now non-refundable, you can still reschedule your booking for a time you do need it!

How many times have you gathered donation items around the house just to have them rattle around in the trunk for weeks because you forget to drop them off? 😅

I'm happy to introduce a donation pick-up program for our local shelters! Here's how it works:

🐾 Gather supplies to donate.

🐾 Let me know before your next booking that you have items for me to pick-up! You can specify the shelter you'd like them to go to or I can decide based on current needs.

🐾 Leave them by the door, on the porch, etc. and I'll grab them at your next booking.

You can find lists of needed and NOT needed items on most shelter websites. A few things most shelters need that aren't always thought about are:

✅ Lysol Wipes
✅ Paper Towels
✅ Printer Paper and Ink
✅ Heating Pads
✅ Peanut Butter

Dog and cat food, collars, leashes, and toys are always needed.

Items should be unopened, unexpired, and in good condition.

Last week was my busiest week since starting this business. 13 hour days, back to back visits — trying to see and care for my girl in between. So I blocked off today and we’re having ourselves an adventure. 😊 Gonna get the paddle board out, grab some treats from , and take some time to breathe and have fun. 🍁

Lickey is the definition of a companion — so eager to please, always next to you, in tune with what you’re doing. His family has a coffee table book of dogs they’ve owned throughout the years and it was so sweet to look through and see pictures of how loved he his. 🩵

Whenever I’m walking a reactive or fearful dog, they tend to have one thing in common — they aren’t sniffing.

👀 Their eyes and ears are up and they are constantly scanning for visual stimuli like people, animals, and cars.

🐶 On the contrary, the most relaxed dogs are spending most of the walk sniffing, stopping to smell every little thing. (Sometimes dogs sniff as a displacement behavior for anxiety — still good!)

✨ Sniffing is SO important for a happy and healthy dog which is why I try to play sniffing games every time I’m with your pup!

It relaxes them, tires them out mentally, and helps them to build a better understanding of their world. 😊

Sniffing games can be as simple as throwing kibble into the grass and letting your pup take as long as they need to find all the pieces.

You can play “search” or “go find” where you hide tiny treats around the house and encourage your pup to go search for them!
