Sweet Hazel was all cozy and snuggled up for her visit at For Pet's Sake today!
Stem cells, get your stem cells!
Mali our very first stem cell 😺
So exciting to work with Gallant to now use this technology!🩺🐾♥️
Stem cells can be used for conditions such as:
Chronic kidney disease
Skin allergies
Osteoarthritis
Feline leukemia
Dry eye
Inflammatory bowel disease
Other chronic disorders
These cells can be harvested at the time of your pets spay or neuter procedures, from fat or from stem cell harvesting from other pets that have been “banked”!
Wow!
How can she do this??! Talent and more talent, Hannah!
Thanks so much!
We pray our pets never get lost! Make sure you offer them the best chance of being found and identified with microchips that identify AND with a GPS tracker tag. Microchips are only great IF they are found, while trackers help to find them. Hiking season has begun, so thought you should be best prepared.

Just Wow Hannah Williams, amazing Glens Falls artist-muralist!
Just love my cat-dog 🚪 This adds just the touch I craved for my vet practice.🐾🩺
Soon to come, another door and wall mural. I’m very excited to see the finished product.
I’m simply blown away by Hannah’s ability to capture my visions! She’s exceeded my expectations by far. I am so excited to see it all come together. She’s so professional and kind. If anyone wants a mural, look no further 🎨👨🎨🖌️
She’s working around our nutty schedule so nicely. Words can’t describe how grateful I am for her detailed artwork.
I have been enjoying my time painting over at 🎨
Here’s a peek at what I’ve been working on the past week. Stay tuned for the full project results soon!
Dr. Haring & staff are absolutely amazing people and the overall atmosphere of this veterinary office sets it apart from most in that it’s a more welcoming, warm home-style space that I’m sure all animals that go there appreciate! I know it makes a difference in my perspective!
Sativa and Gremm find refuge in a sweatshirt during their vet visit. While some may think rats have no place being household pets, others realize how intelligent and full of personality they are🐹🩺
Socks may have some of the longest whiskers out there! Show us your cat’s whiskers 😺🩺🐾
Rottie lovers take a look and just maybe….
The reward is immeasurable when you help a disabled animal. They pay the best form of payment, ❤️ 🙏
Dimes are never a cat’s best friend. This Dina caused a lot of distress to the cat and her family! We are glad we got it out of the cat in the nick of time!😷👩⚕️🐾🩺😺
We have amazing mural progress, thanks to Hannah!
I so appreciate Hannah’s talent to make art and her talent to capture my visions 👨🎨🎨🖌️
Yay Miss Molly, photo winner for March!
She’s a true sweetheart and I love having her as a patient ♥️🩺🐾
Hear me say OUCH 👂
When your pet’s ear looks like it’s about to give birth , it’s time for help.
Aural hematomas occur when the ear flap fills with blood after a blood vessel within the flap is traumatized. This oftentimes occurs when the pet excessively scratches at the ear and or shakes his/her head.
Small hematomas may be healed without surgery with medication alone but large ones are extremely painful and require surgical intervention, and medical intervention. Surgery allows the ear flap to be drained. Special sutures then get placed to hold the ear flap together to prevent blood from filling within the ear flap again. Relief! 🐾🩺🐶😺👌🏻
Super excited to be working with Hannah Williams Artistry, amazing muralist https://
The finished art will come from a series of photographs like these. Hannah will craft a beautiful end art piece using her imagination.

She’s just the best cat for care😺
Birthday sweets😋
Everyone loves chocolate and flowers. Chocolate colored Daisy brought some cheer to the day☀️
Monday made sweeter🐶
Gunther came in with his family, and they came with great questions about his long term care. Love knowing they are off to a healthy beginning ♥️🐾🩺
Before and after, Jack Daniels is just 5 weeks into treatment for nasal arteritis. This inflammatory condition requires life long treatment. He has a dedicated family that has been nursing him to a more comfortable, safe life. Without their devotion, he would be susceptible to severe, life threatening hemorrhage from arteries that are beneath this ulcerated region.
Bravo for before and after positive stories!😊🐶🐾🩺We love to make them better♥️
Yari, rescued from Out of the Pits, came from having heartworm disease, a terrible pregnancy, loss of most of her puppies, to this happy, loved rescue dog 🐶🐾🩺❤️
She was in the “kill list”, like too too too many.
Consider rescuing any species you love! There is a rescue organization just waiting for you to come.
Skin, an organ we all have, is the mirror to what’s going on inside of your pet’s body. Poor Nilla developed some behavioral changes that were subtle at first. She started to hide more, and drink more. One day her family noticed she had a very large rip in her skin. Upon evaluation, we realized Nilla had paper thin, super fragile skin. Her skin was so fragile that it could not be repaired with standard skin sutures, for fear it would be damaged further. She has required large bandages with special topical medication to cover her skin. Weeks have gone by. Much testing has occurred. Ultimately, skin biopsies and blood test results have determined she’s a diabetic and has Cushing’s syndrome. This is a combination that is very rare, so rare internal medicine consultants are intrigued and have joined forces with Dr. Haring and the FPS team to devise a treatment plan for Nilla.
What’s her treatment:
-tons of LOVE ❤️
-intermittent bandage changes to heal her large skin sores.
-trilostane, a drug to help control the excessive cortisol (naturally occurring steroids in the body) that develops during Cushing’s syndrome. This will help reduce her many symptoms, such as skin fragility, excessive thirst, urination, appetite, muscle weakness, lethargy, as well as allowing for better control of her diabetes.
-Senvelgo, a newly released oral drug to treat diabetes. The oral drug to treat diabetes is new to the veterinary world, so there’s apprehension to jump to using it. Cats that are currently getting insulin cannot be transitioned to this medication or the other oral diabetic drug called Bexacat. Unfortunately there are no oral diabetic drugs for our barking friends.🐶
It’s great that this drug allows us to avoid giving Nilla twice daily insulin injections that would further risk damage to her super fragile skin. Nilla will be very closely monitored.
-amlodipine to treat her high blood pressure, another common problem associated with Cushing’s.
You can tell that her care is complex and without an extremely dedicated family none of this would be possible.
This cat belongs to Zack, an FPS assistant, who is currently studying to be a veterinarian! 🩺🐾😺
Dunham thoroughly enjoyed his vaccines today, thanks to the cheesy, yummy lick mat! He might have worn more than he ate.🐾🩺
Everything is better with 🧀

What’s this condition?
Can you guess correctly?
It’s most commonly seen in St. Bernards.

Happy 4th Birthday to Shadow and what was her birthday gift but a trip to the vet! But, she did get a perfect bill of health.
Spring has almost sprung and before long we will be in the peak of heartworm spreading to our K9 friends and even our ferret and feline friends.
The season is long……12 months long.
Eons ago the best practice was believed to start our pets on a medication in March and end it in November.
Eons ago we only treated dogs with preventative medication.
Eons ago our preventative options were super limited to tablets only.
Well pet parents , thank goodness for medical advances, testing abilities and awareness!
We know our dogs, ferrets and cats can die from this super preventable disease and now with so many different preventative options—-tabs, topicals and they are made by numerous companies. It helps drive prevention costs down when numerous drug companies make similar drugs and when generic options exist too!
Ask your vet about the options which exist for prevention meds so you can best tailor it to your pet.
Some of the misconceptions about heartworm disease:
-your pets get it from water, when it’s from nasty mosquitoes
-your pets are tested by their 💩samples, when it’s from a blood sample
-heartworm disease is only a summer disease, when it’s now medically common knowledge amongst The Heartworm Association and veterinarians that it’s a 12 month problem
-dogs get the disease by eating 💩, when in fact it’s cats, dogs and ferrets acquiring from nasty mosquitoes
-all mosquitoes spread the disease, when it’s only those mosquitoes that are infected, and only when they bite the pet and give the pet a blood borne microscopic stage called microfilaria
-you can stop and start prevention medication whenever you remember, when actually it’s only safe for them to start the medication after they have been blood tested and shown to be heartworm negative

What a story!
Our buddy, as we call him Murray the Murphy♥️🐶
To think dog fighting occurs 😡
He’s the gentlest dog one could meet and quite frankly he should be aggressive towards humans, as they hurt him.
He fell into the arms of the kindest humans ever and we are so blessed to know him and to have helped him through a life threatening illness that caused him to have almost no platelets in his body. We all require platelets to prevent us from bleeding to death. Thankfully we identified his condition and put him into remission from immune mediated thrombocytopenia!!!
We love you Murray ♥️
Thanks to Emily and Briana for sharing this heartwarming story with us.

Happy Happy Birthday to Linda!
She’s aged with grace and is now a late teen.
We love this little lady. She’s survived so many issues since I first met her and began her care. She was a stray on the streets of Puerto Rico, when her pet parents first found her. She has a devoted family. They have supported her through near death illnesses, has nearly died on a number of occasions and is now taking many supportive medications to allow her the best life she can have 🐶🎂🩺🎉We commend her pet parents for taking such wonderful care of Linda. I’ve no doubt her delicious cake is from her mom’s wonderful boutique in Saratoga

We are thrilled to announce we are now the exclusive veterinary care provider for our beloved furry friends at The Lucky Puppy Rescue for their New York adoption center location in Argyle. Dr. Haring has been working closely with The Lucky Puppy Rescue to ensure optimal standards of care, and educating volunteers on best practices to prevent and recognize illness.
Pictured is Rae, one of the Lucky Puppies who came to our clinic immediately after her foster family noticed she was feeling unwell.
It is refreshing to work with a shelter diligently committed to the overall physical, and emotional welfare of their residents.

How much coffee did Bella have today? Would love a cuppa that! This 5 year old kissing bandit is in need of a family or friend. She was surrendered to The SPCA of Upstate New York because the prior pet parent could not keep her. They misunderstood the energy she has and felt she was “too much”! Well, I’d love too much doggo love🐶♥️ She needs to run, romp, kiss and hug. She will be an amazing dog for the person searching for a dog to hike with, and to play. She will no doubt enjoy sitting on the couch enjoying an evening Netflix binge, after her long day of giving kisses 😘 To meet sweet Bella, contact us. We can set up a meet and greet.
Another love match made by The SPCA of Upstate New York!♥️ Sweet Bella was rescue dog that was treated for heartworm disease and placed into a phenomenal forever home. Our sweet Madeleine became sick but wanted to be the best momma and clearly would have sacrificed her own life. Sadly, her 4 puppies were taken from her because her treatment would endanger their long and short term health. She remains in our medical care, so wish her speedy healing. She will shortly be in need of a loving home, so remember to check with The SPCA of Upstate New York. Hand raising puppies is utterly exhausting!! Madeleine can never be beaten at her game. Last night was my night as surrogate and that means today will require extra, extra caffeine! Would you know any currently nursing mommas that might make a better replacement to Madeleine than a human? If so, please contact us at FPS or The SPCA of Upstate New York. If you would like to be a volunteer to help raise these sweet puppies, please let us know. These puppies are just a few of the many thousands of puppies rescued by SPCA. Their work in the community and for the voiceless cannot be lost. They need your support to continue. Please donate to help these puppies, Madeleine and all the rest to come and who currently are in the care of SPCA. https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=VKT8CA9G6K8WN #puppy #puppies #puppylove #pup #puppiesofinstagram #puppers #pupper #pups #pupfluencer #rescuedontbuy
Dashing through the snow. Brandon runs like the wind through the upstate New York snow because he got a second chance, thanks to The SPCA of Upstate New York and my team at FPS, as well as Guardian Veterinary Specialists. Brandon was taken in by The SPCA of Upstate New York after having been crushed by a vehicle. Barely alive, he came to us for what would be several months of healing. An extremely generous donation allowed for Brandon to have an orthopedic surgery downstate at Guardian to repair disastrous hip damage from the accident. His pelvis was shattered but his heart remained in tact, as did his enthusiasm for life. Brandon is a wonderful example of what a generous donation can accomplish. His medical care was donated by FPS for all but his orthopedic surgery. Volunteers are needed to help in these cases as well. These animals require much love and care, not only by way of medical care. He was driven three hours away by a volunteer for his surgery. It takes a team! If you are interested in volunteering your time, please contact me to discuss potential opportunities. Please donate to help animals just like Brandon so they too may run and play♥️ https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=VKT8CA9G6K8WN
Happy Easter 🐣🐰 What it looks like to have a happy ending for one rescued dog and her 4 pups. Meet Madeleine, a dog that had been neglected and taken in by The SPCA of Upstate New York. She came to them having been bred. A belly that just kept growing while she was recuperating led the staff at The SPCA to bring Madeleine to me for an X-ray to look at how many puppies were to be expected upon delivery. This is always a recommendation for any expectant deliveries, as sometimes dogs have complications during delivery, requiring c-sections. Madeleine was unable to pass but one puppy naturally. We knew she had a total of 4 puppies, so an emergency c-section was performed. Thankfully all are doing great! This is exactly what goes on at The SPCA of Upstate New York. Please support them today ♥️ Help them rescue and defend more animals in our community. Meet Milo. A great dog that came from a kill shelter to safety at The SPCA of Upstate New York. He swiftly was a perfect “match” thanks to the team at SPCA discussing with Sarah what her lifestyle is like. It’s critical to match our pets with our lives to ensure we can give the optimal care to them. This love match between Sarah and Milo was made possible by the dedicated crew at The SPCA of Upstate New York. Please share their video and consider making a charitable donation using the link provided so The SPCA of Upstate New York can continue matchmaking ♥️ https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=VKT8CA9G6K8WN
Meet Bandit, a gorgeous cat rescued by The SPCA of Upstate New York. He’s blessed to have been adopted into an amazing home where he’s safe, loved and cared for in every manner. In return, he provides bundles of cat love to his family. He got extra lucky to have his sibling, Smokey, get adopted at the same time. So many lives benefited by having the presence of The SPCA of Upstate actively helping out in our community. This humane society can’t exist without our help. Please donate directly to them with the provided link today and feed another animal in need. https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=VKT8CA9G6K8WN
Few things besides my family and friends are as important to me as protecting and serving animals. 22 years ago I was asked to fill in for a few shifts at The SPCA of Upstate New York by an associate and I have never stopped! My passion for animals only grew as I had the ability to help animals in need. Some would be adorable pups and kittens in need of wellness exams and spay/neuter surgery, while othered would be humane abuse cases. Over the 22 years I’ve witnessed unimaginable cruelty. I’ve witnessed the sweetest moments when new adoptions happened. Now many of my first patients are seniors and sadly some have passed after living long and amazing lives. The Director of The SPCA of Upstate New York, Cathy Cloutier has the toughest job. She’s called on all hours day and night and all seasons, by law enforcement officers from Warren, Washington and Saratoga Counties. Officers, and DA’s call her to determine how to proceed when animals are in danger. She knows all the penal codes to help prosecute but mostly, her heart is there to ensure the animals get to safety and that they get the proper care they need. She oversees the animal welfare, implements veterinary services with my guidance to get animals healthy. She and I have worked on the community’s most gruesome abuse cases and we have been the voices for the unspoken. We’ve been expert witnesses in trials to see that max sentences are given to the cruel people responsible for abusing and sometimes killing innocent animals. Individuals who abuse animals nearly always abuse humans that are weaker than they are. This can’t be ignored and people need to continue to support this one and only local humane society do this important work can continue. The SPCA of Upstate New York is in dire need of your financial support. Without our community support we will lose this 50 plus year old humane society. Our community animals need you now. They need food, shelter, medical care and people to care for them. T
Charlie reminds us to never give up, support one another til the end and appreciate each day and those around you♥️ Happy New Year!! We’d all like to wish Dr. Bayan a happy retirement and tons of thanks for his years of amazing veterinary medicine. He’s touched so many hearts and healed so many in need. He’s truly one of a kind and will be missed!!!
🚨 Warning: gross!! 🚨 This sweet baby bunny definitely feels better after this fat cuterebra was removed!

Most amazing guinea pig, Toni, gets her nebulizer treatment. She’s thinks she’s getting spa steam room treatment 😊👍
Did you know that Guinea Pigs have a unique response to itchy mites?? They actually can develop seizures from the intense itch they get from the microscopic mites. The mites are prevented and treated with topical Revolution.
