We’ll miss you, Honey Toes - we couldn’t have asked for a better dog. 16 years and 4 months is quite the accomplishment for any canine! So, today, we celebrate you - tears and all. Two great final days filled with love and all her favorite treats - and one last goofy photoshoot with all her iconic costumes. We love you so damn much, old lady baby 💔

Monster and Lovett are growing!! Freya is the best partner in crime for her baby goat haha. Lovett gets to spend the day outside now! She still sleeps in the house at night and stays inside if it’s not warm enough, though.

Introducing “Monster” (Monstera Deliciosa)! She is a week old Lamancha x Angora cross doeling. We were originally babysitting her an other bottle-babies for long-time ranch friend Elizabeth…but she decided Monster is here to stay!! We’re so thankful - everyone (including the dog) fell in love with this little (adorable) monster!

Welcome Sprig to the FVR family!! This Nubian x Alpine buckling has been graciously donated to our program by Elizabeth Rivas. This massive, gentle, and impressively mellow boy will be part of our pack, cart, and therapy programs. Isn’t he beautiful??

Yarrow, Fennel, and Cypress got to spend time with the big goats today! It went very well, and it seems like the boys are large enough to start transitioning over!! Cypress will remain behind for a little over a month - his company is needed for another baby goat (surprise!) while he heals after weathering - I’ll be posting pics of him soon!

Camio is a “partner bird” today! Excuse the dust - that’s what I’m working on in the specimen room (around any bird shenanigans, of course)! We’re particularly fond of the T. rex skull - aka the dove throne, if you ask him - and I am not allowed to cleanse his dusty kingdom.

Happy 1 year “got ya” day, Cloud! Still thinner than we’d like, but not too shabby for a ~40 year old cranky man! Routine hoof care, fat supplements, better hay, and handling have gone a long way! Quite a glow-up ❤️ - first 4 are today, last 4 are on intake a year ago.

Huge day for the sanctuary - we officially have our own tractor!! A brand new Bobcat ❤️
