Changes are coming!

Here in the coming weeks, you will be seeing some changes here at Southern Canine.

Many of you know that when we originally started, we were training solely out of our homes, and then eventually decided to blossom into our facility in Main St., Grand Prairie. We have been there about two years and have made the decision to go back to our roots! The facility has been great through the seasons, but we feel like it is taking our time away from what really matters, your dogs. So, and an effort to make things more personable, and give your dogs a more well-rounded and immersive experience, we have decided to go back to working solely out of our homes. Boarding dogs going forward, will still be drop-off but, it will be at either the owner, Kayla ‘s house, or Jessica! Additionally, the cost of boarding will be going up (from $45 - $55) as of May 1! We try and keep our prices fair to make sure that having someone you trust to take care of your pet isn’t going to bankrupt you, with the daily pricing increase of almost everything we must match the cost-of-living.

With the loss of the facility, we will no longer be having group classes. While there are opportunities for us to do them outside, the summer in Texas, makes that difficult. Keep an eye out for some hopefully new adventures to keep you and your dog up to par on your training!

You can rest, assured that your pet, whether they are training with us, or boarding (or both) will still be receiving our highest standard of care! If anything, this adjustment will lead us to being more thorough and give all the dogs more opportunities while here.

And while we are here, we wanted to also remind anyone who has not done a follow up lesson to please make sure to use them! If you were struggling at all, please do not hesitate to reach out to your trainer. That is why we include multiple lessons we want to make sure that you and your pet are happy as possible. Place doesn’t have to be just on a cot! Any elevated object with clear boundaries can act as a place area. Not only can this help strengthen the command, it can be a great confidence booster when it’s something like boulders they had to climb up! In your next park adventure, look for something to practice on and tell us about it!

G R O U P CLASSES

Sunday, July 9th we will be starting group classes for all previous Board and Train graduates AND Puppies 5 months and under! We are requiring at-least 3-4 dogs per class for this class to happen. If we do not get enough participants you will be refunded.
