Lost dogs, like any other dogs, are creatures of habit and thrive on routines. When a dog becomes lost, it can be a stressful and confusing experience for them. Routines, such as a feeding station, provide a sense of familiarity and security for the dog, even in unfamiliar surroundings.

Sir Rockwell Charleston (aka Rocky Chuck, when he is being naughty)

Happy Gotcha Day to our Rockwell Charleston III, better known as Rocky, the inspiration for this dog rescue and Clark County's first animal "safe haven" drop-off site. As some of you may or may not know, Rocky was dropped off at our house by an unknown person in a pickup. Since then, I have seen several postings from local shelters about dogs brought in that were found on the side of the highway. The goal of the safe haven drop-off site, cleverly named Rocky's Roadhouse, will be to provide a non-judgmental, safe place for people to surrender their pets if they cannot care for them. This will be completely anonymous, and no questions asked. (This concept is similar to the human version of the Safe Haven program for newborns.) The only catch is that we don't have a structure available for this service. That is where you come in.

We are looking to raise funds to build Rocky's Roadhouse. Please support us in this journey to help other dogs like Rocky be safely surrendered and placed in loving homes. Being a nurse by trade, I am programmed to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. Thus, I have combined my love for caring for the vulnerable and my love for animals into this little passion project of mine. Any support is appreciated, even just sharing this post.

I am so grateful for the support everyone has shown. I am very excited to see this program develop and grow within our community and region.

After two days of challenging my brain with re-learning Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Ilustrator, we reached this point. The gradient in the background is not carved in stone. Jess Bell Modjewski was not giving me straight feedback, so I figured I would put it out for review.

We are awaiting the IRS's 501(c)(3) status approval. However, that does not have to prevent you from making a tax-deductible donation! Contributions to organizations with pending IRS applications can still be tax deductible if the organization was established and applied for exemption before donations and achieved its exemption status.

We have done our part; the government takes 4-6 weeks to process these forms. Just like everything else. 😛

Welcome to our page! We seek to provide services and space for alternative wellness and healing programs for humans while incorporating animal rescue. We will promote personal growth and development through non-traditional education and spirituality methods. Our goal is to use animal rescue as an opportunity to save the lives of abandoned pets by pairing them with humans in need of companionship. Animal therapies will also be offered at the location for people who cannot have their pets at home.
