I had an amazing ride on Ziggy today but for some reason my Obsbot forgot how to zoom?? Super annoying! This clip is of him really starting to figure out the canter transitions. Ziggs is pretty weak behind, and has had a heck of a time figuring out his feet going into the canter. This is a big improvement, and yes he’s unsteady and hollow but I really don’t care! This is just a starting point and his canter is actually very lovely and balanced so it will improve with time. I am so proud of how much more forward and connected he is! He’s so much straighter and he’s bending much better. Ziggs progress has been a little slow because of his weaknesses but he has amazing heart and try. I love him so much! ❤️#ottb #ottbsofinstagram #ottbdressage #ottbtraining #ottbtrainer #dressage #dressagehorse #dressagetraining #dressagetrainer #trot #canter #horsesofinstagram #racehorsetodressagehorse
I seriously LOVE this Ziggy boy! We have had a few hiccups in our training journey! He first blew his front left shoe, but thankfully our farrier was there in a day or 2 to put it back on. Then a few days later he blew the right one! Lol. He’s been having too much fun out in the field with his buddies! But we are back at it and he’s feeling so good! One thing to remember is ottbs need time to learn a completely different way of going. They are using different muscles, and are being asked to be more supple then they are used to. It takes time to change! Be patient! Ziggy was very weak through his back and hind end and is still struggling with lateral work, but it’s coming along nicely! I never try to hold there head in any posture or make them round. I ask them to reach, to be supple, and to swing along and find my hands. They create the connection! Roundness comes with balance and I don’t have to struggle to get it! Ziggy is why I love ottbs! They have such heart and are so athletic.
How cute is Beau?? He’s a young mustang who’s owner brings him for lessons. I get to ride him for part of the lesson and he’s already come so far is a short amount of time! His owner works so hard and they are doing so well! I only rode him for maybe 10
Minutes and then his mom got on and did awesome! So proud ❤️
Greye canter half pass
Meant to post this earlier in the week and completely forgot. Now I’m cleaning out my phone because I am running out of storage (horse pictures cough cough😂) so figured I might as well post it. His canter half pass has improved a ton the last couple weeks, and they are helping keep his back relaxed for the change. Really pleased with this boy! ❤️❤️
Addy and Beau
I know I post a lot about these two. It’s because I am so proud of them both, and how far they have come. When I think back to their first lesson, and my first ride on Beau, and then see them now? I hope it shows people how far you can go with hard work and belief in your horse. Addy is so dedicated, she puts so much into her riding. And Beau adores her. It’s so lovely, so yeah, I’m gonna brag about them a little bit! I also have to say, when I spoke to Addys mom Keturah about doing things differently way back when, they were completely on board and trusted me. That means so much. ❤️
A clip from our ride today.
Gaited horses can do dressage too!
Gaited horses can do dressage too! Jax and his owner Chloe came for their 3rd lesson today. He’s learning to balance better so his cool gaits can be more clear. He’s so stunning! He’s amazingly athletic, and very very smart! His mom adores him, and how could she not??
