What is Basic Obedience to us at ?
At PAWS'itive Pals Dog Training, our Basic Obedience course is where effective communication with your dog begins. We differentiate ourselves by working with the physiology and instincts of our canine companions, using positive reinforcement methods.

In our Basic Obedience course, you will learn how to train your dog on important vocal commands such as Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Watch Me, Leave It, and Loose Lead Walking. We believe in practical training, so we use real-life scenarios to assess the skills you and your dog have learned. This assessment, called "Town Training," takes place in the dog-friendly Downtown Grass Valley area. Successfully completing this course will prepare you and your dog for the AKC Canine Good Citizenship test.

We understand that each dog and owner have their own unique learning curve and background. If you are starting with behavioral concerns, you will begin to see significant improvement by week 3 of the course.

To ensure success, we encourage you to dedicate at least 40 minutes a day for training your dog, and the course runs for a minimum of 5 weeks with one session per week. Our goal is to make sure that when you graduate, your dog can perform the trained tasks, remain manageable in crowded environments, handle distractions, and accompany you on various outings such as running errands in town, visiting a dog park, or enjoying a dog beach.

Our small group classes accommodate up to 6 dogs in a series. During the summer, classes are held outdoors, and during the winter, we move indoors to continue training.

By joining our Basic Obedience course at PAWS'itive Pals, you will gain the necessary skills to effectively communicate with your dog and build a strong foundation of obedience and behavior.

Good morning, as we get closer to these dates, we wanted to share a reminder, we will be closed for all services July 13-July 21. The glitch in the software system may miss these dates. (Yes, we are shopping around for new software to make the business run more smoothly.)

We wanted to announce an upcoming pause in services... Man In the Hat and Lauren have planned a "staycation" in July. Between July 13 and July 21 there will be a pause in all services. We want to give y'all ample time to be notified of this scheduled break away.

There are major glitches in our software, we are currently shopping around for something new... have a suggestion 😉 we would love ❤️ to hear them.

Due to the errors our system says we are full... that isn't the case. Drop a text if you would like to attend, or do a drop in before 10am or between 1230-1pm

With the close call we had in LWW yesterday, we find it appropriate to share this. We have a plan for evacuation that is published on our website---do you have a plan of action?

Being prepared is imperative for smooth evacuation.

A few other suggestions:
Is your companion's chip registered with your current contact information?
Is your dog’s tag affixed to the collar with reliability?

We are excited to share that we now have some shirts in stock. This is our first time ordering swag from a local provider, and Brooke did a job! This is what we have at the facility currently :) and we can always order a special size with the saying of your choice---shopping local has its benefits. :)
