Our foster parents have been busy! This is Momma Mikkah (pronounced Meekah) who gave birth to 6 healthy kittens in a foster home this weekend. They are all doing great and we appreciate our foster parents immensely! Everyone, please send your loving thoughts to Mikkah and her babies! 🐾❤

This is also a friendly reminder to spay and neuter your animals. All shelters are full and we have community resources to support with the cost of surgery. You can learn more about the benefits of spay/neuter on Animal Save's website: https://www.animalsave.org/spay-neuter-faq or contact your veterinarian to learn more.

🐾It's time for our friendly competition: This or That! Post a comment voting for your favorite shelter animal.

In this week's edition, we have 1 year old Benny and 5 month old Willow. Benny is super sweet, loyal, and plays well independently. Boy, does he have a blast with a squeaky toy! On the other hand, Willow is a young dog who is very playful, but prefers to play with other dogs. She is in the puppy stage where she is still growing into her skin, while Benny is a full grown 90 lb gentle giant.

Either way, they're both winners and are up for adoption! Place your votes! 🐾

This beautiful girl is Gigi! She is an extrovert who just loooves people! Gigi keeps herself entertained well and loves to play in water. She's a great dog who will make a fantastic companion. Gigi prefers to live in a home without other dogs, but with the help of shelter staff and volunteer trainers, she is improving with other dogs and doesn't show any aggression on leash.

If you have a house full of people and prefer to have a house pet who doesn't need to go to the dog park and is happy just hanging out with you, then consider adopting Gigi!

Gigi's adoption fee is sponsored by a volunteer, so she is ready to go home with you!

We just can't say enough good things about Benny, but we'll try! He is an all around good boy, who would be happy going on a nature hike or relaxing with his person on the couch. Benny is a young dog, between 1-2 years old, who is fantastic with other dogs. He also enjoys playing with toys or playing fetch and does well playing independently. Benny is also wonderful on leash and will stay right by your side. Benny will make a great companion and is eager to meet you!

Scroll through the pictures to see all of Benny's skills! Benny is neutered, microchipped, and current on his vaccines. When we cat tested Benny, he was curious, but respectful and kept his distance, so we think he would be just fine in a home with cats.

Call Grass Valley Animal Shelter at (530) 477-4630 or stop by the shelter at 556B Freeman Lane, Grass Valley Tuesday through Saturday from noon - 4 pm to meet Benny.

ADOPTED!! Sweet Chopstick, now Bruce, found his forever home and we couldn't be happier for them! Bruce has special needs due to being mostly deaf. The adopters worked with our volunteer trainer, Taylor at Take the Lead Canine Coaching who taught them hand signals and gave them confidence to manage his needs.

This adoption was very special to us all! Please join us in congratulating Bruce and his new family! ❤
