Update: DPS went over and salted. Thanks Georgie!!!
Please be very careful if attempting to enter the park today. There is a major ice rink at the entrance. Currently a clean palette with no tracks inside the park.

What do you see? I see a beautiful girl having some quality time at her favorite place. At 14 years old, Jenny has been dealt a tough blow with a recent cancer diagnosis. It is aggressive and focused in her jaw. Send some love and support to fellow park members, the Bonomo family, as they love Jenny through her ordeal with such care and compassion. ❤️🐾

Good afternoon. Conditions at the park are terrible. I would recommend waiting till a blanket of snow comes along or a good melt. It is currently a skating rink and could be treacherous on joints of humans and canines. Peaceful Sunday, friends.

Oz and Emery making the most of conditions at the park this morning!

Conditions are optimal at the park if you can tolerate the cold and snow. A quick visit is fun for you and your pup too!

Conditions are good at the park despite some rain showers today. Help yourself to a tick removal tool on the way in.

In memory of our friend, Fred’s corner at the dog park today and a big place in our hearts, always.
Big thanks to Rich Brower and his crew from Island Roots for setting the base and bench assembly and placement. Thanks also to John Keim of GI DPS. Have a safe and peaceful weekend.

Good morning. Please check gates at the park before entering for the next couple days. Island Roots will be working on a special project in the southwest corner. Please leash your dogs when workers are present. Thank you!

W**d control chemicals were applied today at the dog park along the fence line. Please use caution if using the park or better yet, give it a day.

Good afternoon! The park has been freshly mowed and the lawn looks trim and tight. Please check your dogs for ticks before you get home. Short grass is better but not 100% safe. A good flea and tick combo prevention is recommended as well.

Does anyone have something like this lying around that will hold water for the dogs to cool themselves off in? We could use one or two at the dog park.

The dog park is open dawn to dusk in all weather. It’s pretty flooded today. Please keep an eye on our feathered friends nesting nearby. Just left of the entrance gate. I haven’t found the nest but I don’t want to disturb the birds. They are protective of the area along the fence line towards the road.

Whatever. Wash your hands. Give six feet minimum. Stay safe! 😉🐾

Mostly frozen and dry at the park this Thursday morning. I think we need a version of this...

Happy Valentine’s Day! Grab a puppacino and enjoy 3-5 minutes of fun at the park. No mud today but on the cold side!

Happy Valentine’s Day! 💜💛🐾

Good Morning Friends. You may have heard about the sudden and unexpected passing recently of Fred Labadie. He was so much to so many, but as we all know, he was our go-to guy at the dog park. Fred did orientations at the park for decades, maintenance and project planning, and just plain enjoyed it with his family and their dogs. We are working with the family and have a plan in place to memorialize Fred with a substantial 8 foot bench (like the ones you see along the bike path) which will be engraved and landscaped into the SouthWest corner at the park. Dedication to be held in the warmth and sun of late Spring. If you would like to donate to this tribute, please send a check made out to 'Grosse Ile Animal Shelter' and put "Fred Labadie" in the memo. Mail to P.O. Box 22, Grosse Ile, MI 48138. Thanks and as you enjoy the park, smile and remember Fred. Good vibes to his family.
