We are SO excited and honored to be able to adopt out 2 of our adoption room kitties to some very wonderful citizens at Marshall County Arc. Our hope is that Sabrina and Binx bring years of happiness to these precious people💕💕

Yesterday we celebrated a very important birthday at LGVS!! Aimee turned 25 🥳 🎂 🎉!! Aimee brings so much happiness and joy to us; she keeps us entertained with her awesome dance moves, her beautiful singing voice, she gives us all the BEST hugs, and she teaches us so much about compassion and joy. Aimee, your LGVS family loves you big and we were so happy to celebrate the big “25” with you!!!

EDIT: Black and white one adopted, others still available 😻

Here are our 3 newest kittens, and our 2 residents that have been here the longest. ALL of these babies are available for adoption. The first 3 are about 4 months old and will be big, beautiful long haired cats. As you can see, one of them has an injured eye that we have treated… his eye is healed but we do not expect him to have vision in it. The last 2 are the ones we posted last week that are feline leukemia positive and have a reduced adoption fee. 🚨SPECIAL NEEDS ADOPTION🚨. Simon and Beezus have lived with us for almost a year😔. Why? Because they both tested positive for feline leukemia. This is a death sentence for many shelter cats, but we believe ALL animals deserve a chance at life. They are healthy and it has not affected their quality of life at all. It is not contagious to humans or dogs, and is spread to other cats through fighting or breeding. They are both fixed and they are not fighters AT ALL, so please don’t let this deter you from opening your home to them. They came in at separate times, but they have lived together and have become bffs, so we would love for them to get to live in a home together. We are offering them at a special price of $50 for both, in hopes it will increase their chance of finding a forever home. They are young adults, both fixed, and current on vaccines. PLEASE, somebody take a chance and open your home to them. They are sweet cats and it is not their fault they weren’t cared for in early life. Happy Halloween from all of us at LGVS! Bubbie is so excited to be wearing his wig 😹😹. If your pet has a costume and you are coming in today, be sure to bring them in it because it brightens our day 🥰. And remember, chocolate is toxic to pets so make sure to keep your candy away from them!

EDIT: HE WAS ADOPTED!!!!

Can anybody give this sweet, very large cat a permanent home? He was found in a parking lot begging for food, and has obviously had a very rough life😢. He is now neutered and vaccinated, and is surprisingly very loving… his fee is $50 (to help cover his surgery and vaccines). His ears are permanently scarred but it gives him such character! We usually require our adoption cats to be indoor only, but this guy has lived his entire life outside so will be happy either way. If you can provide this big boy a SAFE, loving indoor/outdoor home please call us 256-486-9053. His name is Don Julio 😻. Yesterday, we introduced our licensed vet tech, Meredith. Today, we want to introduce our “soon to be LVT”, Mackenzie. Kenzie is currently enrolled in tech school at Jefferson State, and will soon be joining Meredith as a licensed technician🥳. We knew Kenzie had what it takes to make it is this field when she came for an interview and she has not disappointed!! Kenzie is being trained by the best of the best (Meredith) and is excelling in what she is learning. She is so quick to catch on, is crazy smart with math, has outstanding communication skills, and most of all is MORE than willing to go above and beyond what is asked of her. For example, she was asked to soak this chicken’s feet but didn’t tell us she was slightly terrified of birds until she was 5 minutes and elbow deep in😂😂. But that’s just Kenzie and it makes her so amazing… Kenzie King Norris, you are an absolute rockstar we are so excited to go on this journey towards obtaining your license with you!!! You will soon be Mackenzie Norris, LVT🥰. Make sure to give her a shout out of appreciation if you see her this week!

Tomorrow starts VET TECH WEEK!! 🥳. Throughout the week, we will be introducing the girls who run the show at LGVS.. But first we have to introduce Meredith, our licensed veterinary technician (LVT). Meredith graduated vet tech school from south Alabama and has been a part of LGVS for several years. As a vet tech, Meredith is the right hand of our veterinarians. We all know she’s the real boss of LGVS😅. Meredith’s knowledge of all things veterinary related is IMPRESSIVE. If she had a penny for every time somebody said “hey, Meredith”, she would be a millionaire! She can pull blood from anything, place iv catheters, urinary catheters, iv injections in anything, intubate even the tiniest of patients, run the anesthesia machine like a BOSS, fix fluid pumps, blood machines, and the list goes on and on. You won’t see her in rooms as much for routine appointments (because she’s in the back seriously handling everything), but if your pet has ever had surgery or been hospitalized it is Meredith who has tended to their every need. She doesn’t ask for gratification and is extremely humble… She is also the one who handles emergencies with grace, and will often look at all of us in bad situations and tell us it will be ok🥰. She has trained our other assistants, and they are so very lucky to have her to share her knowledge. If you see Meredith this week, tell her THANK YOU because she is truly amazing 🤩

EDIT: SHE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!!!

Remember the beautiful Golden doodle that was found in downtown Guntersville? She was spayed today, has been groomed, received all her vaccines, dewormed, and started on heart worm prevention. We kept her beyond the legal timeframe required by law, although we were informed her owner could not care for her and let her loose. She is estimated 10-12 months, and is underweight at 36 pounds. She is now available for ADOPTION starting at 8 am tomorrow!! Her adoption fee is $200 and you must agree to keep her as an indoor pet. Her hair was extremely matted, so we had to shave most of her body, but that beautiful coat will grow back in no time🥰. We expect a LOT of inquiries on her so please do not ask questions in the comments. To inquire about adopting, call the clinic tomorrow at 256-486-9053. FROM DR. MARTHA:
“I want to take a second to recognize a few people at LGVS… We do a lot of surgery, and while Dr. Manasco, Dr. Pearlman, and myself get all the recognition for the life saving procedures we do, these girls are the real heroes. We may do the actual surgical procedures, but you know who keeps your pets alive during and after these surgeries? It’s Meredith, Danyka, Mackenzie, Paige, Lindsey, Casie, and Kenzie. They are the ones who place IV catheters, prep the patients for surgery, monitor blood pressure and body temperature, keep their eyes on the EKG machine, and sit with your pet until they are safely recovered. Meredith has met me countless times, at all hours of the night, to treat emergencies and perform surgeries that would otherwise not make it to the next day. I watched Meredith place an iv catheter and intubate a kitten that weighed 0.9 pounds yesterday. I watched them bust their butts last night after a long day to quickly set up the surgery room for a life saving intestinal surgery. I watched Danyka volunteer (without hesitation) to come to the clinic every 2 hours last night to check vitals on our most critical patient. Then I watched them show up this morning as exhausted as I was, with a good attitude and ready to do it again. Next time you drop your pet off for surgery (whether it’s a routine spay/neuter or a complicated emergency surgery), you can rest assured knowing they are in the very best hands imaginable. If you see one of the girls, make sure to thank them because they are absolute ROCKSTARS 😎!!”

Our adoption room is absolutely OVERFLOWING😢. But sometimes certain situations pull on our heartstrings and we have to make room for more. After being unable to give these kittens away for free in the Wal Mart parking lot, these folks came begging us for help, as they had nowhere else to turn. We don’t have the funds or the space for more kittens (we are NOT a shelter and we receive absolutely zero funding or aid for our efforts), but we made room… These tiny babies are 6 weeks old. They tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV today, and will receive their first vaccines in the morning. PLEASE share so we can get them adopted out. We run a small adoption program to try to help the unbelievably high amount of stray cats in our community, in addition to being a full function hospital and boarding facility. But we can’t continue to help if we don’t get some adopted out. We would also GREATLY appreciate donations in the form of kitten food, litter, beds, and toys. Monetary donations are always the most critical need so these strays can get the vet care they need before leaving our facility. PLEASE help if you are able, or just come on by tomorrow and adopt one of these precious babies 😻🙏

Her name is Jiggly Puff, she is 8 months old, spayed, fully vaccinated, and negative for FIV/leukemia… She has the loudest purr and is unbelievably sweet. Adoption fee is $95, INSIDE ONLY. GUNTERSVILLE, PLEASE SHARE!!! This big, beautiful baby walked into Lakeside Clinic (Dr’s office) in Guntersville today around closing time. They didn’t want her on her own tonight, so she is spending the night at LGVS. She is clearly someone’s pet so PLEASE share so her family can see this. We are SO happy to welcome back “Ms Heather”🎉. She worked for us back when we were still in the back of Pet Depot and she is rejoining us again. We are all so excited!! She brings so much joy to us and is a wonderful receptionist. Stop by and give her a warm welcome; you will definitely leave with a smile on your face🥰🥰
