Is that a 7 year old on my 4 year old!? Yes, yes it is!!!
✨PROUD✨ is an understatement!
When I bought Dolly as a 10 month old I knew one thing for certain, I wanted to train her myself. Now, I’ve never trained a horse from the ground up, but her breeder gave me a piece of advice that has stuck with me through the years and I’ve even passed it along to fellow horsewomen. “It’s not rocket science, it takes patience and consistency. You know more than you give yourself credit for.” She may not have been “trained” in a 30-60 day period like a lot of youngsters are, but over the past three years with her, we’ve done everything at our own pace and I am SO proud to say she helped this phenomenal little rider experience her first real canter. That’s a huge step for both of them! There’s a million right ways and a million wrong ways in the horse world, we found our groove and stuck with it. I have so much trust in this little mare and believe this kiddo is going big places in the horse world. This is a day I’ll never forget💗🐴

This week at the Ranch:

Miss Portia got to ride her favorite this weekend! 🐴

Taylor brought Atlas back over and we saw some major improvements keeping those baby feet moving…believe it or not, this beast is only 3! 🐎

Ruby was a saint for her second ride of the season❤️

Taylor rode the heck out of the most challenging horse here. He gave her a run for her money and she handled him like a champ. Incredibly proud!💪🏼

Snuck in a lunging session with Poncho, Ruby Doo’s first ride of the season (and she was wonderful!—I just adore working these youngsters) and Miss Aubrey had her first lesson of the season on Kozi all before the rain hit this week!

Now I’ll just be sitting here in front of my drown-out ring (😭) waiting for the next dry day to fill with horsey memories with the kiddos! 🌧

We had our first ever haul in, Taylor and Atlas came to play!🐴

Addison cantered Kozi for the first time!💙

And Miss Dolly had her first ride of the season and was a gem, just as I suspected she would be💗

Good Morning, Oak Ridge family! As usual, I haven’t posted on here in way too long…I’d like to be better this year and use this page to keep you all updated with what’s going on around the ranch, what shows we plan on attending, student successes and everything in between!

With that being said, we are slowly starting our lessons back up! Here are some things to keep in mind when scheduling,
-Please, please, please be on time…your hour is your hour, late times will shorten your ride time. As you all know, I typically go over the hour time frame anyways, and hate cutting you short, so please work with me on not having to do so.
-I completely understand last minute cancellations, life happens, but PLEASE give me as much notice as possible so I can either offer the time slot to somebody else that’s been waiting (I have a long waiting list) or arrange some time so I can get some training in.
‼️No shows with no explanation will be charged 1/2 lesson rate at next lesson‼️

With the rising cost of, well life, I unfortunately am forced to raise my lesson rates this year. Grain, fly spray, shavings…the list goes on…
There’s a lot that goes into maintaining my fur children and keeping them healthy for all the kiddos to enjoy them!
$60/hour
$45/half hour (only offered to 2-4 year olds)
**traveling rates depend on distance and time**
**payment is due at time of lesson**

JB and Kozi are ready for their favorite kiddos to be back to doing what they love!
Cash is ready to some fun game lessons
Jasper will be giving a few lessons here and there, he’s going to be teaching patience and building confidence on a tougher ride
I have yet to assess Ruby and Dolly this year under saddle, but I’m convinced they will be ready to have some kiddos enjoy them as well!
And then there’s, Mr. Poncho who will be doing lots and lots of ground work.

We are SO excited to be back to doing what we love, it was a long and cold winter! Please private message me or text me for scheduling or if you have any questions!
