Our goal at Farm Friends is to educate through hands on learning with experienced animals & interactive visual aids. Topics covered, but not limited to, are farm animals and agriculture in our everyday lives. Lesson plans will be geared towards each specific audience and event. Animal Assisted Activities are also provided. We can accommodate for events both small and large, from one on one to hundreds. Farm Friends LLC is fully insured!
We have educational displays and visuals that are interactive for up to 7 different stations including horses, chickens, rabbits, sheep, cows, goats and turkeys. We can also cover farming/gardening topics for as young as Preschoolers. The actual animals that can come to your location include 2 rabbits, chickens, a turkey and a potbelly pig. The rabbits can be on display or we can set it up for the participants to pet and hold them in chairs. We bring baby blankets to put on their laps and hand sanitizer for use after petting. The animals will all be in locking secure cages while on display. We leave no trace and clean up any and all messes.
All of our animals are extremely friendly and have had a lot of experience with the public in both small and large settings. Through out my past experiences I have taken animals inside the building at senior centers, churches, several schools including Cherry Hill East, Glassboro, Haddon Township and Winslow Middle School for Community Night. I have taken animals to display outside at numerous town events, 4H demonstrations, Winslow HS for National Night Out, a Camden school for Agricultural Day, St John of God School and many other events. Most recently, I took animals in to an assisted living home and we all experienced a non verbal resident start speaking to the rabbit she was petting on her lap!
I enjoy teaching about the animals and seeing the benefit of animal interaction in both children and adults! I grew up around animals and my family had a farm in Winslow with a petting zoo and pony ride business for over 20 years. I have worked with all ages teaching about reptiles, farm animals, pets and horseback riding lessons. I worked at PetSmart for 4 years teaching pet parents and scout troops during store tours. I worked at the Cape May Zoo in the education department teaching both around the zoo and working with the children in Zoo Camp. I have worked closely with Camden County 4H over the last 11 years volunteering in all aspects of teaching and working with youth in different workshops, demos and recently started my own 4H club. I have a Bachelor Degree from Rowan University in Communication and Iβm also CPR certified.
