Big news for Vibrant Dreams Horse Share!
It's official I have my 501c3 for my Horse Share program! Now to start getting donations ☺️ we have a go fund me now but we will also be looking for horse related donations or items we can sell/auction off! The things we will be needing:
High quality horse hay
Youth saddles
Saddle pads
Halters
Bridles/headstalls
Grooming tack
Training supplies
Stall/corral cleaning tools/supplies
Really anything horse related as long as it's in good shape.
We could use a couple more kid broke horses under the age of 15 (we want these kids to be able to bond with the horses and have them around for quite a few years, we will NOT be taking special needs horses). PM with what you have or think might work 😊
PS if you can't help we totally understand, but please share!!!
We also will be hopeful holding an open house in the late fall!

First picture is of my horse share program horse (Wind) who I got to learn to train while I was learning to ride as well!! Wind was my best friend and gave me purpose and incentive to stay out of trouble :)

Vibrant dreams horse share program

Hi My name is Kristina and I have been working on putting together a horse share program for troubled teens and underprivileged kids. As a child, I was in a horse share program that no longer exists as the lady that ran it retired several years ago due to all of her horses aged out. Being a kid that came from poverty and a pretty disruptive household. The horses in this horse share program saved me. They gave me something to focus on, a dream I could build on and help keep me out of trouble.. I know there are so many kids out there today that could also benefit from that experience as I did and many of the other kids who also were part of that horse share program. We are currently looking for sponsors and donations to purchase three well trained kid safe horses along with things we need to support those horses and kids. Along with those three horses we will need funds to purchase saddles tack hay/feed and other supplies needed to ensure horses and kids get the adequate care and attention they need.
A little bit about me besides that I was in a horse show program myself, I joined the horse share program when I was 11 and took riding lessons from several different trainers until the age of 18 so that I could learn as much as I could. At the age of 18 I attended the Minnesota horse training academy where I learned an alternative but highly successful natural horsemen ship techniques. I have a combined 10 plus years of working with both developmentally disabled adults and children along with working with troubled teens in a group home atmosphere. One of those teen group homes I was part of an equine therapy program that took in kids as young as seven. I have spent the last 7 years working at the VA and love working with the veterans as well! My goal is to build a full-scale horse share program that can accommodate 10 horses and 20 plus kids a year.
At Vibrant Dreams Horse share program, we will be giving kids, who wouldn’t normally get the chance, a chance at being around horses. At Vibrant Dreams we will be teaching these kids all about horses! We will start with the basics so that kids learn how to be safe around horses and natural horse behaviors. The kids will be taught from the ground up on how to care for horses, groom them, feed them and even basic emergency care. We teach the kids how to work with and talk to horses in a way the horses communicate. Kids will get to work with horses from weanling to kid broke horses, so they get a chance to see the different stages of a horses development. The kids will get a chance to bond with one of the kid broke horses, so they can learn to ride and really enjoy all aspects of being around horses. The kids can move up through the program and advance to showing, going on trail rides and other fun things they can do with horses. At Vibrant Dreams we hope to inspire many to grow and see that they can be more than what life has delt them and to DREAM bigger!
