Updated EEE and West Nile cases in NYS..... 18 EEE reported cases and 5 WN....there could be more that have not been seen or diagnosed by a veterinarian. We would like to thank everyone for spreading the word, in the last couple weeks we have boostered and administered 30 vaccines. Lets keep it up!

Our Doctors want to encourage anyone with a horse vaccinated previous to April 2024 (over 6 months ago), to receive an Encephalitis West Nile booster asap (EWTWN). Anyone with an OVERDUE horse is recommended to set up an annual visit asap. The American Association of Equine Practitioners recommends considering a booster vaccine for these viruses if in an edemic area. The mosquitos are horrendous right now and may continue to be throughout the next month or two if the weather stays warm (not that we want winter to come too soon though!) Remove standing water sources, use mosquito repellents and keep your horses inside from dusk to dawn when mosquitoes are out if possible. The vaccines are very safe and effective. We want to keep our equine friends healthy.

Important West Nile Virus update! A horse in Little Falls NY, in our back yard -died of west nile this week! Eliminate mosquito water sources and vaccinate your horses ASAP.

If you're cleaning out and have old regular sized bath towels, we will take them! Every pet gets a towel or two to snuggle during any stay at the clinic.

More EEE cases and now West Nile too....this is the updated information from NYS Ag & Markets. Note these horses were either not vaccinated or over due. Once a year vaccinations are life savers. Call today if your horses are unvaccinated, over due or if you need us to check their vaccine status.

In order to refill any prescription medications, all patients are required to maintain a wellness exam once a year. New conditions, not yet under veterinary supervision require an exam to ensure proper care is provided. We will uphold the standards of quality veterinary care and make appropriate recommendations.

We were gifted a package during the night at our office. These little cuties did not come with a return address, but they do need a new destination, ideally a permanent address of residence. Anybody need two kittens??? Staff is busy washing them and cleaning them up.

Has your cat been in for a yearly exam? Cats hide diseases until they are very ill. We recommend an exam and bloodwork once a year to detect early changes. Drinking from the sink seems cute, or is she drinking more than she should? Is she seeking heat or just enjoying the sun? Is your kitty more vocal? More active? Less active?
