The Christian County Animal Shelter is a regional shelter that serves the counties of Christian, Trigg, and Todd Counties. Our mission is to help animals in need through sheltering, adoption, education, spay/neuter, and community outreach. We strive to build a community where people value animals and treat them with respect and kindness thus bringing an end to the cruelest practices towards animal

s. We aim to lower the number of homeless/unwanted animals and build a stronger animal protection movement within the community. Roxy might be a little bit older, but she’s so full of life. This goofy girl loves to get out and has no problem keeping up with the younger dogs! Cloe is outgoing and friendly and just about everything you can ask for in a dog! Chloe has been back at the shelter for about a month now and hasn't really had any interest. This sweet girl does not understand why no one has taken her home.

Chloe is back! Meet Chloe!
This girl here is a 4 year old Boston terrier Hound mix. She was recently brought back to the shelter because they could no longer care for her. This sweet girl is now ready to find her new FURR-EVER home! Chloe does great with other dogs, but does not like cats! She doesn't do well with smaller children, so she would need to be in a home with older children. This pretty girl is HOUSETRAINED, so no accidents from her! She has been SPAYED already. She is CURRENT ON RABIES as well, so she is pretty much set! Chloe get anxiety when going for rides in the car, so she will need to be crated if she has to ride in one. She does fine at the vet and groomers, so no worries there. Chloe's favorite toys are any toys you will give her! This loving girl is now looking for her new loving home and is excited to meet you!

How can you resist this face?! Jill is a great girl, she’s always down for an adventure whether it’s hanging out at adoption events or frolicking through fields of sunflowers! Jill came to the shelter as a stray from Terry Coal Road in Crofton, she was then adopted and once again found as a stray and brought back to the shelter. Apparently, she and Jack went adventuring and couldn't find their way back. That pail of water just wasn't worth it.....Jill has been great with the shelter staff as well as the other doggos, but she was recently returned to the shelter for playing too rough with a smaller dog. We have no idea as of yet how she is with cats. We do offer trial adoptions though. So, if you have cats, that would be a good option. She walks pretty good on a leash and is fairly calm for her age. She is only about 2 years old. She has been SPAYED and brought CURRENT ON HER RABIES vaccination via the shelter's GET EM DONE program. Jill is a terrier mix of sorts, but is not nearly as energetic as most terriers her age are. She is beyond ready to break out of this place and get into a loving FURever home!

Some of our pups got to take a field trip today! They got to frolick through this beautiful sunflower field and show off their best smiles in front of this event prettier pond! We would like to start taking a few dogs at a time to local spots in our community so they can get out of the kennels and get new adoption pictures! Male found on the 1000 block of Shadow Ridge in Oak Grove. His shelter name is Aslan Shadow. His stray hold will end on 8-1-24.

Aslan went to the vet at entry. He has a dislocated back right hip and his left back leg is broken and highly infected. It will need amputated. He’s is currently on antibiotics and pain meds to get the infection and swelling under control. It is going to cost quite a bit to get him fixed up and we are reaching out for help. We will have an exact amount soon. If anyone would like to donate to help Aslan please call Skyline Animal Clinic at 270-886-6321 or go by there. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. It takes a village and ours is great!

Update: the quote from the vet for his treat mentioned is $1408.40-$1666.87 depending on how things go and what he ends up needing. We have already received $470 towards his treatment. Thank you to those that have and plan to donate. We couldn’t do what we do without you.
