Taycan is resting well! 😹 After his glucose curve test yesterday, we have increased his insulin to 2 units as his numbers were still too high. Keep sending those positive thoughts and prayers!!

Bones came to the rescue in December 2022. He was adopted once, however didn't get along with the resident cat. His adopters were devastated. Bones is an amazing 3-legged kitty who runs, jumps and climbs like a true athlete!

Taycan update...his sodium levels are going down. His glucose levels are leveling. He still looks like he feels puny. Depending on his condition this afternoon, he may be able to come home.

Taycan Update...he is still hospitalized, at least through tomorrow. He is not eating well and is overall not "looking like he feels well", according to the vet. Fortunately, his bloodwork is improving except for very high sodium. Poor guy. I know Taycan is in the best hands. Now if he can cooperate and help them help him. You got this, buddy!

Who remembers sweet Davi? She was the kitty found in mid June with an open sore full of maggots. She is the sweetest thing and absolutely beautiful!!

Update: 9:15p
Taycan has diabetes. 😿 In order to give him his best chance, we decided to hospitalize him until Monday. He has started insulin and his glucose will be monitored frequently. Funds will need to be raised since his bill could run up to $1100. Please donate if you can. Share his story if you are unable to donate. Invoice and bloodwork added to post.

Please keep my sweet Taycan in your prayers. He has been struggling since he was neutered in July. (How i wish i would have never done it.) Xrays revealed prior fractures to his left elbow and left pelvis. He had gotten up to 8lbs and is now barely 6lbs. At the vet last week, bloodwork revealed high glucose levels indicating possible diabetes. He had been on prednisilone for a couple of weeks prior to bloodwork so we stopped for the past week and are here for another blood check. If his glucose numbers are still high, then he has diabetes. 😿

His condition breaks my heart. I am so grateful for the last year I have had with him. I need to always do what is best for him and will not let him suffer if there is no good outcome.

Had a wonderful time at the Foster Summit today with my beautiful daughter, Jessica Long, where I got to meet Hannah Shaw, aka Kitten Lady! It was also fun running into a few of my FB rescue friends!

URGENT....Foster needed for senior ginger boy. He was on the EU list at BARC and had a foster. Foster is no longer able to keep him. Does anyone have a spare room/bathroom that is willing to love on this guy a little while?

Here is what the Foster had to say:

"Senor has made progress each day. He is still very skiddish around new people and loud sounds. He responds well to treats and does OK with pets as long as he invites you to do it.
He does not like to be petted while he is laying down. He likes to snuggle at night, but does not like to be handled too much during the day.
He will allow you to pick him up, but I have only done so when he I need to move him into another room to clean his area.
I didn’t get a chance to fully introduce him to my cat, but they did meet under the door and he did not hiss.
I do not see any visible patches of ringworm, but I have not fully inspected him as I am not confident he will allow it.”

Please let me know if you can help. I DONT want to have to cage him!!

Snickers and his siblings came to the rescue in November 2022 when they were just 6 weeks old. Sadly, we lost Twix and Skittles to panleuk in March 2023. Snickers and Reeses managed to beat it.

Unfortunately, right after surviving panleuk, Snickers developed a strange swelling/infection/abscess on his face. To this day, he still has complications.

Reeses came down with FIP in Feb 2023 and is still fighting it. She was deemed cured in Sept 2023, however relapsed in June 2024.

Neither have been well enough to be adopted. I will continue to care for them, continue to treat them, and continue to love them!

This is the "behind the scenes" in rescue. The kitties that use up financial resources that you don't expect to spend. To me, Reeses and Snickers are just as worthy and valuable as any "healthy, adoptable" kitty. Praying that one day, they will have a forever home of their own.

There is a sadness in my heart. Today, I said goodbye to one of my rescue kitties, Fangs. On June 24th, we noticed that she was breathing abdominally. Got her to the vet the next day and received the bad news: either congestive heart failure or cancer, neither good. I told the vet I wanted to take her home and love on her until it was time. This morning, she started coughing, letting me know the time had come.

Fangs came to the rescue almost 2 years ago when her human died after drug overdose. She was truly the sweetest girl with the cutest "blep". At almost 10 years old and being solid black, she never got adopted but always had a home with me.

Thankful to my vet for getting her in this morning. Run free sweet girl. Tell Sunshine hello for me.
