This trio spend some time with us while their mom climbed Machu Picchu. Those smiling faces are the reason we do what we do!
Every dog has patterns of behavior "coded" into their genes. Understanding these behaviors or "instincts" is the key to helping our dogs be their best.

This girl loves everyone she meets and has just been a joy to train! Check out Texas Cattle Dog Rescue if you’re interested!
We have loved every minute of working with this sweet boy! Looking to add a new friend? Check him out!
We can't wait for Tru to join us and to see how much she grows. She is looking for her forever home. Her new owners would get to join in on the training process. Contact Big Love Rescue if you're interested!
Welcome to the family! We’ve expanded the family by 2 mama goats and 4 babies. We have loved watching them grow and get acclimated to us and the new place. Keep on the lookout for more pictures and videos as we keep growing!
Is there anything cuter?
Check out the accolades of one of our rehabilitation alumni. Everyone knew he had greatness in him. He just need to be shown that people could be trusted and the world didn’t have to be a scary place. Great job Texas Cattle Dog Rescue and Jennifer. We are honored to have been a part of his journey!
Team building and rescued donkeys? What could be better?! This weekend the team visited TMR Rescue for their Donkey Walk. TMR is an Equine Rescue that does some really great work with rehabilitating and finding homes for donkeys and horses. As we grow, we are looking to adopt a few donkeys and are really excited to use our behavioral knowledge as we work with the trainers at TMR who will help us train our donkeys. Check out the pics to see all the fun we had.
Christmas Day at the ranch!
We are beyond blessed to have a crew who loves each dog that comes in just like it’s their own. They’ve been there through the hard times and the good times and come to work everyday to make a difference in the lives of the clients and the dogs that we get to serve everyday. They do the hard work even when no one is looking. Their witty humor, fun loving sarcasm and love for each other make each day more fun than the last. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do with out them and the families who support them. Thanks for celebrating this holiday season with us and for giving so much of yourselves every day. We love you guys.
Red. Redrum. Redaldinho. Reddy Feddy. Reddy Bear. Red Baby. You are so loved and will be sorely missed. Red’s journey with us started after a late night phone call from a foster in Pearland. Red had taken over the house and chased her into the bedroom where she locked herself in. He was one of those rare dogs who had a harder time with women than men. He came back to Katy with us and found a home in our social pack. For 13 years, Red has helped pay it forward. He single handedly helped us enrich the life of Reggie (one of our sanctuary dogs), and he helped teach hundreds of dogs' boundaries and socialization. Red lived fully and strongly right up until his last day. He passed peacefully, surrounded by the Dogfather Family, lying out in the sunshine, in his favorite place on the property. It was our honor to love him and help him transition. Our pack won’t be the same, but we will remember his quirks, retell his stories, and continue the work he helped us to start.
Goodbye for now, sweet boy.
We could have watched these two play all day 😍
We are forever thankful to those who have entrusted us with their dogs and let us be a part of their lives. For those who have spread our name, shared our posts or liked our social media. For those who supported us while moving from Katy to Spring Branch to Cypress. For customers who have become like family. Happy Thanksgiving to the best people we could ask for!
Sweet Lucy has found her forever home! Lucy is one of the rescues we have been working with to overcome any adoption obstacles (not that this girl had many ❤️). We are so excited for Lucy, Monica and her whole family.
Lucy wouldn’t have found this great home without her amazing sponsor, Darlene. We are endlessly thankful for her unwavering commitment in doing what’s best for Lucy and for being one of our biggest fans.
It takes a village, friends. We are honored to be a part of this one.
There’s nothing better than spending a Friday with your four-legged friends !🐾🐾
The magic of this place is felt by the dogs and humans alike 💚

Podrick feeling the power of the pack!
We’re making all kinds of friends !
It feels good outside & the dogs know it ! Check out Red playing w his pack friends 💞🐾
Red is absolutely loving the pool & belly rubs 🐾💞
Check out this dog hero. Alysa rescued Walter off the street, took care of all his medical problems and is now working on training so he can integrate with her other two and be a part of the family. We’re so proud of how far they’ve come and all the work Alysa has put in to ensure Walter has the best life from here forward!
Remember Lucy looking for a forever home? She’s found a foster but is looking for a home still. Check out her bio and look at those awesome glamor shots!
Oh, hay there.
Check out these 3 enjoying their morning stroll 🐾💞
This group is a newly formed family, but the dogs didn't get the memo!! Dad's dog, Norma and mom's dog Brienne had great moments of co-existing and big moments of fighting. Here they are learning how to share the couch AND be happy about it!! They've come a long way!! Great job, guys!!
Know anyone who has squabbling siblings or even hostile housemates? Our social behavior modification method, The Family Language has pioneered a Pair Bonding program to help multi-dog households reach home harmony.
Share this post with friends or family that have two or more dogs in the house that are experiencing behavioral challenges. Let them know that it doesn't have to stay that way!
We just can’t help but brag on these two again. We have the best clients and are just so proud of how far Katelyn and Knox have come.
Meet Lucy and George. These guys belonged to a client who sadly recently passed. Both George and Lucy are looking for new loving homes. Contact Michelle (281-650-6063) if you’re interested in either.

In December we did an assessment for a hyper excited husky named Luca. Luca loved life a little too much. He had little to no manners or impulse control. He was living with a great foster who wanted what was best for him but felt as if his needs were outside of her wheelhouse. Luca came and stayed with us for a board and train and some extended boarding while his foster marketed him for a new home and she found it! Matt had the honor of escorting Luca all the way to Colorado where he met his new mom, dad, human siblings and doggie sister. Using the new skills he learned at The Texas Dogfather Luca was able to successfully navigate meeting new people and a dog in a new state with ease. We are so proud of this guy and are thankful to have been able to witness his journey. Thanks to Marcella, his awesome foster and Freedom Street Rescue for trusting us with Luca.
The magic of this place and everything we get to do to help families and dogs still amazes us everyday.
After spending some time apart so Indy could work on some training skills, we were finally able to reintroduce these two- Butter and Indy. Watching them rediscover their friendship was so fun to see!
The bonding! The walk! The turn! 🤌 These guys are just practicing their new walking routine (no barking at other dogs or pulling mom to the ground) on the last few days of their board and train. We couldn’t be more proud of their progress and can’t wait to see them be able to transition back home.
Remember Tank and Indy? The two boys who came to us to work on pair bonding? Check them out! Here we are taking them on a tight pack walk. Exploring and sharing in sniffs and smells can help bond and create curious brains. Do you know someone who is dealing with fighting in the house? Share this with them!
Did you know we have a Pair Bonding Program? This is for housemates that are struggling to get along or struggling to assimilate together. These two, Tank and Indy, used to be reactive on site. Tank just could not give up his negative feelings for Indy. Check them out here. Using our method, The Family Language and our pack dogs, we are working up to the two of them being able to interact without all of the elevated emotions we saw before. Are you struggling with the same in your house? Give us a call- 832-464-9060!
It takes a village! We know that you have found some amazing people and companies to be a part of your dogs life. Bring them out! Your dogs training should encompass every part of their regular life and that includes your extended family, friends, dog walkers, pet sitters, groomers, daycares, and boarding facilities. Including them in the transition sessions allows everyone in their life to be on board with your goals and expectations for your dog. Thanks to Foxmoor Pet Care for being a part of Tank’s village and coming with open minds to help us in the same goal of helping Tank have a happy, enriched life!
All of the dogs in this video are searching for their forever homes. While their rescues/fosters are looking, we’re working on the skills they may need in a new home. We want to be a part of the whole journey. We help with bios, potential adopter screenings, meet and greets, transfer lessons and trouble shooting. For these guys, we’ve been working on: 🔹Leash walking without reactivity 🔹Greeting a new person 🔹Socialization with dogs 🔹Socialization with kids 🔹Impulse control 🔹Sit, down and stay 🔹Go to bed 🔹Leave it 🔹Crate reactivity Share with your rescue friends. We would love to help!
Check out Christian and Tank! Christian is a part of our pack. He is helping us work on some social refinement with sweet Tank.
This looks like a typical spa day for our boy Red but this took relationship building, counter conditioning, desensitization, and work! Red started his board and train not being able to be handled or brushed. Using the family language, this was the end result as he was getting ready for his go home transfer lesson!
How could we not share and brag on this girl and her amazing parents? Evie came to us over FIVE YEARS AGO to work on people and dog socialization. Her parents have put in countless hours to help Evie understand parenting, build her confidence and grow her social skills. Evie would never have gotten this far or stayed this social without her loving parents cheering her on and guiding her every step of the way. We are so happy to be a part of your journey, Evie.
On Mondays we socialize! Looking for a place to teach your pup the ins and outs of navigating a social group? We’ve got you covered! Give us a call at 832-474-9060 to get more info!
Look at those faces so excited about all of this new space to explore! The pack is back and so excited to get back to work! Give us a call to set up an assessment 832-474-9060!
After lots of searching, The Texas Dogfather has finally found our home in an 11 acre property in Cypress. We have spent months perfecting The Family Language while intensively working with The Pack to be able to better serve our clients. We are building everything from the ground up allowing us to decide exactly what we want and offer some unique services. What do you hope to see first?
