He might not realize he’s not a bird, but we love him anyways!
In December we did an assessment for a hyper excited husky named Luca. Luca loved life a little too much. He had little to no manners or impulse control. He was living with a great foster who wanted what was best for him but felt as if his needs were outside of her wheelhouse. Luca came and stayed with us for a board and train and some extended boarding while his foster marketed him for a new home and she found it! Matt had the honor of escorting Luca all the way to Colorado where he met his new mom, dad, human siblings and doggie sister. Using the new skills he learned at The Texas Dogfather Luca was able to successfully navigate meeting new people and a dog in a new state with ease. We are so proud of this guy and are thankful to have been able to witness his journey. Thanks to Marcella, his awesome foster and Freedom Street Rescue for trusting us with Luca.
The magic of this place and everything we get to do to help families and dogs still amazes us everyday.
After spending some time apart so Indy could work on some training skills, we were finally able to reintroduce these two- Butter and Indy. Watching them rediscover their friendship was so fun to see!
The bonding! The walk! The turn! 🤌
These guys are just practicing their new walking routine (no barking at other dogs or pulling mom to the ground) on the last few days of their board and train. We couldn’t be more proud of their progress and can’t wait to see them be able to transition back home.
Remember Tank and Indy? The two boys who came to us to work on pair bonding? Check them out! Here we are taking them on a tight pack walk. Exploring and sharing in sniffs and smells can help bond and create curious brains. Do you know someone who is dealing with fighting in the house? Share this with them!
Did you know we have a Pair Bonding Program? This is for housemates that are struggling to get along or struggling to assimilate together. These two, Tank and Indy, used to be reactive on site. Tank just could not give up his negative feelings for Indy. Check them out here. Using our method, The Family Language and our pack dogs, we are working up to the two of them being able to interact without all of the elevated emotions we saw before.
Are you struggling with the same in your house? Give us a call- 832-464-9060!
It takes a village! We know that you have found some amazing people and companies to be a part of your dogs life. Bring them out! Your dogs training should encompass every part of their regular life and that includes your extended family, friends, dog walkers, pet sitters, groomers, daycares, and boarding facilities. Including them in the transition sessions allows everyone in their life to be on board with your goals and expectations for your dog.
Thanks to Foxmoor Pet Care for being a part of Tank’s village and coming with open minds to help us in the same goal of helping Tank have a happy, enriched life!
All of the dogs in this video are searching for their forever homes. While their rescues/fosters are looking, we’re working on the skills they may need in a new home. We want to be a part of the whole journey. We help with bios, potential adopter screenings, meet and greets, transfer lessons and trouble shooting.
For these guys, we’ve been working on:
🔹Leash walking without reactivity
🔹Greeting a new person
🔹Socialization with dogs
🔹Socialization with kids
🔹Impulse control
🔹Sit, down and stay
🔹Go to bed
🔹Leave it
🔹Crate reactivity
Share with your rescue friends. We would love to help!
Check out Christian and Tank! Christian is a part of our pack. He is helping us work on some social refinement with sweet Tank.
This looks like a typical spa day for our boy Red but this took relationship building, counter conditioning, desensitization, and work! Red started his board and train not being able to be handled or brushed. Using the family language, this was the end result as he was getting ready for his go home transfer lesson!
It feels good outside & the dogs know it ! Check out Red playing w his pack friends 💞🐾

How could we not share and brag on this girl and her amazing parents? Evie came to us over FIVE YEARS AGO to work on people and dog socialization. Her parents have put in countless hours to help Evie understand parenting, build her confidence and grow her social skills. Evie would never have gotten this far or stayed this social without her loving parents cheering her on and guiding her every step of the way. We are so happy to be a part of your journey, Evie.
On Mondays we socialize!

After lots of searching, The Texas Dogfather has finally found our home in an 11 acre property in Cypress. We have spent months perfecting The Family Language while intensively working with The Pack to be able to better serve our clients. We are building everything from the ground up allowing us to decide exactly what we want and offer some unique services. What do you hope to see first?
