Best Little Clinic in Hutto
The Hutto Veterinary Clinic opened in the year 2000 as the first veterinary clinic in Hutto and one of the first businesses on Front Street. Dr. John Holmstrom, our founder, had been practicing out of a red Chevy pickup for about 7 years, seeing lots of cattle, horses, cats, dogs, goats and even a chicken named Oprah. He served mostly the east side of Williamson County but tried not to turn down even those on the west side that needed a good, practical vet who would come to “the place” at all hours of the day and night.
Dr. Holmstrom eventually saw the practice go from about 75% large and 25% small-animal to today’s number: 100% small-animal. Before he even retired from the sometimes grueling large-animal work, the companion animal side was booming. Dr. Holmstrom did eventually retire in 2017, but still checks up on us daily.
Dr. Betsy Pratt, our Medical Director, has been with us since 2012. We were pleased to welcome Dr. Carson Moczygemba in early 2020. Our experienced staff also gets lots of credit for our situation. We’re in the process of finding a new vet and expanding the building to accommodate the growth in clients.
If you’re looking for a vet, please come by and check us out. We provide high-quality care, a great diagnostic team and personal attention to your beloved pets. We offer regular vaccinations, flu shots, rattlesnake vaccines, etc. We perform spays, neuters, soft tissue surgery, dental cleaning and extractions, and many other services. We do have board-certified specialists in imaging and orthopedics who come to the clinic to perform procedures. We have a full pharmacy and can generally order special items. We sell Purina, Royal Canin foods; Heartgard Plus, NexGard, Bravecto, Trifexis, Advantix, Revolution Plus.
