Highway 79 Animal Clinic was established by Dr. Gary Kniffin in 1986. We are a full service medical and surgical facility for small animals.

Happy Holidays! We will be closed on Saturday, December 23rd and Monday, December 25th. We hope you and your pets have a safe holiday! In case of an emergency, the following emergency clinics will be open: Heart of Texas Emergency Center, Central Texas Veterinary & Emergency Hospital and Austin Veterinary Emergency and Special Center.

Our hearts are heavy over the recent fire at the boarding facility in Georgetown. We were heartbroken to hear we lost one of our own patients Lilly and wanted to honor her and her family. She will be missed greatly. 💔

Our thoughts go out to all the families who lost a beloved pet and family member.

Our sweet Bella passed this week. Our hearts are heavy. She was the sweetest girl. Always a goofy look on her face! The memories of our kids growing up with Bella and Missie are priceless. We sure miss them both.❤️❤️

It is with broken hearts that we tell you that our Missie is no longer with us. She passed peacefully surrounded by love and chocolate chip cookies 🍪 Many of you have seen her or gotten to know her throughout the years “helping” at the office. She was a true terrier through and through but also loved our family ferociously. She will be greatly missed, and we are comforted by all the precious memories with her over the past 16 years. In her honor we would like to share a little poem:

Sunlight streams through the window pane
unto a spot on the floor….
then I remember,
it’s where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet,
and muted echoes sound….
then I remember,
It’s where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road,
and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can’t be yours….
your golden voice is still.
But I’ll take that vacant spot of floor
and empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and unused dish along the wall.
I’ll wrap these treasured memorials
in a blanket of my love
and keep them for my best friend
until we meet above. ❤️
