Monday, December 21 to set up and decorate from 3 pm -7 pm

Wednesday - day of the event for set up from 10 am -2 pm

Wednesday day of the event servers and produce boxes distributed from 2 pm-5 pm

Wednesday day of the event clean up crew 4 pm - 6 pm.

Hero Farms to Provide Holiday Meals To Those In Need

Hero Farms has partnered once again with far eastside community volunteers to bring a Christmas holiday dinner to families in need.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Due to the need seen on Thanksgiving Day, Hero Farms will be serving the community a Christmas Meal on Wednesday, December 23rd from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This is possible thanks to partners from the greater Indianapolis area and in Lawrence. We will gather at 4228 N Post Road again to serve the free meals and 700 produce boxes to our far eastside families. Our meal will be available for carry-out or delivery only. Deliveries will be made to those homebound due to COVID-19 or individuals with disabilities living in zip code 46226 and 46235. No contact deliveries will be made. If you need delivery call or text 317-771-3264 for Spanish 317-506-7770. The deadline to request a Christmas meal delivery is Monday, December 21st at 3:00 PM. Social distancing will be enforced, and COVID-19 guidelines will be in place including wearing personal protective equipment like masks. We will be taking everyone’s temperature who comes through the door.

Pastor Mike Wiley stated, “This year with so many of us being isolated and not being able to be with our families, we want to bring the real spirit of the season back by spreading the love of Jesus. After Thanksgiving, we are all family now. We want our community to continue to come together. We want to open this up to anyone that does not have someone to spend the holiday with. We want you to know that you are loved and not forgotten.”
The cost to feed one individual is only $2, and we are asking for donations because we know more than 500 people will show up.

Pastor Mike Wiley and his wife Kim Wiley have been preparing a free Thanksgiving dinner since 2017 for families on the Far East Side of Indianapolis and the homeless. If you know the Wiley’s, their dinners are not something out of a box or a can, they’re going to smoke a 100 lbs. of turkey, 100 lbs. of ham we're going to make 100 lbs. of homemade noodles, green beans, green bean casserole, corn, and corn casserole, homemade mashed potatoes; and if you can think of it and it belongs at Thanksgiving it will be there! It is a loaded down platter like you just went to Grandma's house. We invite you to come grab a plate and a box of food.

Last Saturday my co-worker and I went on a deer hunt. As we were hiking the trails, we began to talk about the Lord. As the conversation continued, he said that he can feel the Lords presence. I told my co-worker, if he would start praising the Lord, that he would get filled with Holy Ghost according to Acts 19. He began to praise the Lord, while we were walking, (he was in front). Then he lifted up a hand and started to say hallelujah. We stopped on the trail, and I said if you would like to recieve the Holy Spirit with the evidenced Of speaking in tongues, let’s ask the Lord to fill you. He said ok, then took off his hat, his pack and gun, & laid them on the ground. I told him I was going to lay my hands on his head, and when I did so, you will start to speak in tongues. He lifted his hands toward heaven, shut his eyes, and the Lord filled him with the Holy Ghost!!

He was praying in tongues for about 5 minutes, and then fell to his knees and started to thank the Lord!!!
We didn’t get a deer, but the Lord had other plans! Thank you Jesus!!

Those of you who want to come out tomorrow or Saturday this is an update ...

If you want to bring your own seeds you are welcome to,👍🏻😁
but there will be seeds provided 👏

We will have a kids 👧 👦 table that will involve paint 🎨 so please dress accordingly

Due to Covid you will need to bring your own snacks and water 💦 bottles, if you have shovels, rakes, hand shovels, wheel barrel, gloves 🧤etc please bring them as we have a limited supply

So Looking foreword to connecting with our commUNITY again after this lockdown
We plan on working from 9:30-2ish depending on weather & how long volunteers want to stay

FYI..We will be tilling ground and building beds in the morning (heavier work) planting will come after that is done
