It's that time of year! I'm hearing a lot about puppies! Here are some helpful tricks to get your cutie ready for a lifetime of grooming. It starts the minute they come home.

Puppies!!! A lot of clients are getting ready to welcome new family members for Christmas. To help your puppy get ready for grooming, save you money, and get the style you're looking for, here are some tips:

As soon as your puppy comes home:
- Start brushing and combing daily. Ask your groomer which tools are recommended and how to use them.
-Discipline. Don't let your puppy nip at you or the tools. This will create bad habits.
-Rub their feet, front and back, ears, and face. This will make grooming easier.
-Introduce them to the dryer. Just getting use to the noise will help tremendously.

Going to the groomer should begin at 12 weeks. Even if it's just for a bath and nails and continue every 4 to 6 weeks.

This is Lucy. Mom has been doing these things at home and she was absolutely perfect for her first professional groom. 💕

Hi Happy Hounds Family.

I've had a few questions about the new canine virus going around Michigan. I am following it very closely and want you to know I always follow strict cleaning measures to keep your pup safe.

Between each groom:
- ALL equipment goes in a uv machine for a minimum of 10 minutes, then:
- all brushes, combs, clip on combs and blades are sprayed with 70% isopropyl alcohol
- shears wiped down with Barbicide
- tub, table, and crates sprayed with Best Shot 256 and Bleach at the end of the day

From you, I need the following:
- if your dog is showing any symptoms, please reschedule your appointment
- be prompt with your pick up time to avoid contact with other customers
- clean up messes in the yard or make me aware so it can be cleaned promptly

Let me know if you have any questions regarding my safety measures. If you have specific questions regarding the virus please contact your veterinarian.

A mystery virus like parvo has been killing dogs across the state during the past month. Symptoms include vomiting and lethargy.

NEW PICK-UP POLICY:

In order to give all customers the quiet, one-on-one grooming experience and avoid cross traffic at drop off and pick-up, please pick up your pet within 30 minutes of the text notification. If you will need extra time to pick up, advanced notice will be needed. There are times when I have personal appointments/commitments that my extra time is not available.

LATE PICK-UP FEE
$5 every 15 minutes after a 30 minute grace period
