Awesome to get a review like this...Owners made this experience so much easier than we could've hoped. We recently rescued a second Aussie Cattle Dog, Walker but are still working through some issues. We knew he couldn't stay in the beach house with us (too many people and their dogs already) but were terrified about dropping him off in a kennel due to his having been abandoned so many times by previous owners. Pam and Paul put us at ease; they clearly know what they're doing and how to handle sometimes-dificult dogs. They also sent us regular updates on Walker's progress adjusting to his surroundings which was nice. I definitely recommend taking Pam's advice on visits during your pet's stay! Walker almost didn't want to leave when we went to pick him up. We will definitely use Ocean Sands K9 in the future, if needed. I can not recommend this place more!

This posting is me begging for someone to save this dogs life!

TEDDY POSSIBLY ONLY HAS UNTIL TOMORROW MORNING ……….HE MAY BE EUTHANIZED DUE
TO NO SPACE 😩
(If the number of dogs comes into that shelter that they are expecting then he’s in danger)

Back in June, this incredibly sweet SENIOR dog was dumped at a shelter at seven years old 💔😡

Background story:
He came into the BERTIE SHELTER in December 2019.
They adopted him out from the shelter to a woman in February 2020.

(This took place prior to me working hard on changing the rules/regulations and putting in place a proper adoption application/contract. This story is just ONE of the many reasons why I insisted on different adoption criteria!!)

In June 2024, at the age of around seven years old Teddy was surrendered to another shelter. That shelter manager contacted me letting me know that Teddy was at that shelter. They have tried to find him a home or rescue. I’ve been working diligently in contacting everyone I could think of to try to save him and get him out of that shelter. He lived inside his home, so being in a shelter was devastating to him.

Teddy lived inside his home and we were sent pictures showing how spoiled he was blah blah blah……. There were no other animals in the home. There was never one complaint, in fact, all the reports were of how much they loved him and how perfect he was.
Then this woman moved her son, his girlfriend and their dog into the home. She said Teddy did not like the new dog and they fought. INJURIES took place. SO INSTEAD OF THE NEW DOG (much younger than Teddy) FINDING A NEW HOME …

TEDDY WAS DUMPED AT A SHELTER AS A SENIOR …. He doesn’t like other dogs …. and HE HAS HEARTWORMS 💔😡💔😡💔😡💔😡

That shelter manager and I just hung up from a phone call with both of us crying because they have multitudes of new dogs coming in and they have absolutely no space for him. YET PEOPLE LIKE TO BLAME THE SHELTERS.
No matter how many dogs that we can save in rescue is the ones we do not save that literally break us!!!

🚨🚨🚨🚨IF YOU CAN ADOPT TEDDY:
1. no other animals in the home
2. Fenced in yard for him to play safely.
3. He is low maintenance and very, very sweet. He loves everyone!!
4. He has Heartworms so he will need treatments and we promise to try to raise funds for him!! Please do not let that discourage you because Heartworms can be treated. (UPDATE: $1,100 has been raised!!)

If you can adopt or foster him contact me on messenger immediately!! 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

Please please SHARE!!
Thank you,
Gina

We had a fantastic first season with the Town’s new Splash Pad! 😄 It’s closed for the season, but we'll be eagerly awaiting its opening next year after Memorial Day. 😎

We couldn’t let the season splash on by without having one last hurrah – so we’re bringing back one more of those ‘dog days of summer.’ 🎉The Town is excited to announce we are opening the Splash Pad for our furry friends! 🥳🐕 All dogs, big and small, are welcome to enjoy the Splash Pad on Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Bring your four-legged friend for one last day of water fun. 🐶💦💦

Please make sure to have a leash on your dog when walking to and from the Splash Pad. For the safety of all, we ask that only well-behaved dogs that are up to date on all vaccines come play. We can't wait to see you there! 🐾

When I read a review like this I can't help but smile.
Our dog, Gracie, stayed at Ocean Sands last week. She has never been boarded anywhere and has a lot of anxiety with being away from us and locked in a crate or kennel. Pam and Paul took time to allow Gracie to get used to them and trust them. Gracie also goes on hunger strikes. They paid very close attention to her and how much she was eating and drinking. Pam communicated with me frequently and we made a plan together to get Gracie to finally eat. They discussed everything with me and made sure we were updated with what they were doing and how Gracie was responding. They are very knowledgeable and you can tell they have a lot of experience with different dog temperaments. Gracie got the 5 star treatment and we felt like they treated her the same way they would their own pet. Gracie is our princess and I was nervous to not have her with us, but they made it so easy for us to enjoy our vacation and know Gracie was well taken care of. We would 100% bring Gracie back and recommend them to everyone. Thanks Pam and Paul!
