I’m curious.....why are there so many new page likes? I know that I should be thankful for the likes...... but we haven’t bred any horses or had any horses for sale in many years. It just seems strange to me.🤷‍♀️
Please let me know what part of the world you are from and why you liked our page......

Our beautiful Maya (Bijou Blanc) had to be humanely euthanized yesterday. We are truly heartbroken.
It was discovered that a large squamous cell carcinoma (aggressive tumor) had grown in the opening to her trachea. There was nothing that could be done, even if money wasn’t an issue. Rather than have her die from suffocation, the decision was made to end her suffering.
She was laid to rest in the pasture next to Cricket and Harley.
Always sweet and willing, she is very missed. CJ and Bella are still calling for her, even though we let them say goodbye after she was gone. They will both get extra attention and grain for a while. 😢💔😭

It is with great sadness that we announce that Cricket and Harley Jane have crossed the rainbow bridge together. They are no longer in any pain.
We miss seeing them in the pasture..... and especially miss Cricket’s sweet ‘welcome home’ whinny when we get home. 😢
They spent most of their lives together, so we buried them together in the pasture. So happy that both of them had a year of grazing in a beautiful lush pasture after so many years on dry lot.
We sure miss you girls.....😢💔

Lawrence acquired some medication for Cricket’s knees that’s making her feel better......at least for now. 🥰

Our AQHA mare, Harley, is in need of a new home. We are offering a free care lease for her to live out her days. She is permanently lame so she cannot be ridden in any capacity. She has conformation issues so she cannot be bred either. She has been Cricket’s companion for years and, unfortunately, we will be letting Cricket go to the rainbow bridge before winter. 😢
We are considering letting Harley go with Cricket....but we thought we’d try to find her another home first.

Ok, so this has been a LONG time coming.....but it is finally done. We no longer have any stallions on the property! It will be a wonderful day to be able to let Forrest, Lucy and Brodie out to graze together....😍🐴🐴🐴

So true.....

Hello everyone! We've had quite a few new people like our page....WELCOME!
Here's our latest update:
We are still stuck in our unfortunate housing situation. We are renting a small house without enough property for all of our horses...and barely enough room for the humans! The minis (Forrest, Lucy and Brodie) are here with us, but the big horses (Cricket, CJ, Maya and Harley) are living a few miles away in our landlord's arena. There is not a safe place for us to work with them or ride them there....or even a place to safely tie them! We are actively looking to buy the next place we find that will house all of our babies. We would love to find loving forever homes for Harley and Brodie.....and possibly the perfect buyer for Maya.
Please keep your fingers crossed for us that we escape this hell that has been keeping us away from our horses.

Brodie

11/01/2015

Our miniature yearling Brodie had his birthday two weeks ago.....my how time flies! He loves his turnouts with his sire and is easy to catch and lead. He is getting his fluffy winter coat just in time, as it is supposed to get down to 20 degrees later this week! Here is my dilemma......Brodie's testicles have decided that they want to live where it is nice and warm and have refused to descend. I wanted to sell him as a gelding as he is not registered and would only ask a little more than what his 'brain surgery' cost. Now we are potentially looking at the cost for his surgery being much more than I could ever sell him for.......or afford for that matter. After Gypsy's cancer, we are still making payments on our vet bill and will be for a while. Time is of the essence when dealing with cryptorchid animals, as their testicles can become cancerous tumors.
Here is my proposal.....If he would have a great home and would be gelded within the next 6 months, we would be willing to give Brodie to a forever home. He is going to make somebody a wonderful cart horse or friend, but his health is in jeopardy right now. I would estimate that his surgery will cost between $200 and $1000 (best and worst case scenario). One of his testicles is in the inguinal canal, so the cost would most likely be on the lower half of the spectrum.
Please let me know if you are interested, or know somebody who is interested.
I will post pictures of Brodie and information on his bloodlines later. He looks a lot like his older sister June Bug, shown above.

Gypsy giving Nikki a 'kiss'.....or a 'snorfle'....

It is with a heavy and very broken heart that I must tell you that our beautiful mare Gypsy (aka - Lady Hawke) has been freed from her battle with Lymphoma and Leukemia. Yesterday, Lawrence and I had to have her humanely euthanized.....so she would never know the suffering that was to be in her very near future.
We took her in as a boarder when the stable she was living at was suddenly shut down. Anyone who knows us knows that our luck is...well, crappy! We ended up having this lovely Swedish Warmblood mare dumped on us. In this case, we made the most of the lemons that were handed to us and made the most sweet lemonade. Gypsy had two beautiful foals for us and she was a wonderful addition to our herd. She was affectionately called 'Nana', because she was an old soul and very much the matriarch of our herd. I have so many wonderful stories from her 9 years with us. I will sum up her stay with us by saying that she taught me more about trust than anyone in my life.....and I can't thank her enough for trusting me. She had been horribly abused and neglected by her prior owners.....and I gained her unconditional trust in time. Horses don't have to trust people, they choose to. I hope that we did her justice in her time with us. We are heartbroken and miss her, but we chose to liberate her from any suffering she would inevitably have. She is buried in an absolutely beautiful place on a hill overlooking a valley of hay fields. She is home.....

More big news! Lucy, our miniature mare is due any day now.......we're not sure how this happened, as she was not exposed to a stallion until December of 2013! My guess is that Forrest is VERY flexible and he managed to cover her through the fence!!! Doesn't really matter now, as there is a baby coming soon.......or she was implanted with an alien!!!!! :)
If anyone knows of someone looking for a mini foal that will make a great cart or show prospect, let us know please.
