TRAFFIC IMPACT THIS WEEKEND
Big traffic impact coming up this weekend. There will be a full main lane closure of I-35E due to the bridge demolition. No traffic over the bridge or under it from 9:00 p.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday overnight both nights.

Nancy is a older dog looking for placement. She has been such a sweet girl since she has been with us.
She came to us as a stray and no one to claim her. Unfortunately, Nancy has some medical issues and is unable to be available for adoption. She is hoping there is a rescue out there that can help her out. She does not mind other dogs and is ok with cats.

Ella is a shy but sweet 2 year old domestic shorthair.
Ella has been an outdoor cat for the longest and has been very happy here at the shelter, being inside, getting all the good food and lots of love from the staff.
Ella is sweet, but can be sassy as times still learning the indoor ways. Ella does not mind other cats, but is unsure of dogs. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and more!

Peach is sweet and shy, but will melt your heart! She enjoys everyone she meets and loves to play fetch and lay on her bed. Peach loves to be by your side and enjoy your love and company and she absolutely loves kids and does well with cats.
Peach is working on house training, and is catching on fast but will need more training once she finds her forever loving home.

Chapo is a 1 1/2 year old Cane Corso. He came to us in rough shape. Staff members gave him all the care and love to help him recover and has been such a gentle giant with a big heart!

Update: Adopted Check out this goofy guy!!! Maverik is a 3 year old Husky, that has all the right moves! 🐶 He has been such a fun, goofy guy to have! He lives in the moment and is always happy no matter what he is doing. 😁 ..And get this?? He is well trained!! He know basic commands, and is house trained, and walks well on leash. A Day Out With TUBBS! ❤️ Who wants a 110 pound package of love? Tubbs is a 4-5 year old Bullmastiff mix who has been at the Lake Dallas Shelter for a while and today he got a break to go on a field trip! We have so many good things to say about this sweet guy and do not know why he is still at the shelter as he is just perfect! Tubbs rode well in the car, enjoyed a brief sniffy walk, and was the perfect patio partner while eating his own hamburger patty. This big boy is super chill, gets along with other dogs and children, and doesn’t even seem to mind the cats at the shelter. Tubbs loves all people but is crazy about men! He would make the perfect Netflix and chill dog. He definitely is an inside dog and wants to be with the family. Tubbs is fully vetted and ready to go home for the adoption fee of $30! BILBO’s BIG day out! Bilbo had the best day ever! The only thing that would top this day is being adopted by a forever family!!!! This sweet guy has been at the shelter since September 2022!!! So one of our amazing volunteer took him out for some much needed fun time. The first thing on the agenda was to go to the park. Bilbo rode well in the car and loved sniffing while checking out the pond and ducks. He’s a quiet boy who observed his surroundings and didn’t react to passing by other dogs, people, joggers, bicycles, or rollerbladers. Good job, Bilbo! Next stop was the pet store where he got to pick out a chew stick and some treats to take back to his shelter buddies. Then off to the hardware store where he loved the garden area to sniff the flowers! Then is was lunchtime and stopped to get a hamburger patty and a puppuccino which he thoroughly enjoyed!! Bilbo is a great dog! He would do best in a quiet home with another doggie friend to play with and help him boost his confidence.
