This is a radiograph of an abscessed tooth on one of our patients. This cat was in extreme pain, but he was eating and acting normal otherwise. Without dental x-rays, we would not have known the extent of the issue. You can see where the infection was eating away at the root. Dr Ruse extracted the tooth, and the kitty will feel much better in a few days!
Interesting fact:
By the age of three, more than 70% of cats have dental problems, according to the American Veterinary Dental Association. The most common health issue in pets is dental (or periodontal) disease.
