Pet parents, be mindful of your pet's collar! Not only is it important to ensure their ID tags are up to date, but you should also check your pet's collar fit using the two-finger rule. Your index and middle fingers should slide easily between the collar and your pet's neck. The perfect fit allows for you to insert two fingers and no more, firmly snug between the collar and neck. The collar is too tight if you have to apply force to insert the fingers, and if you can move the fingers or add a third, the collar is too loose and puts you at risk for losing your pet.

You and your pet are the perfect tag team! Before venturing outside, ensure your pet's ID tags are securely on their collar or harness. You should also check your pet’s registration information in their microchip manufacturer’s database, and make sure it’s up to date. When a microchipped pet isn’t returned home, it’s usually due to incorrect or missing owner information in the microchip registry.
