For those of you who live where your pet goes to a common potty area, it is so important that we keep them up-to-date on certain vaccinations that they can get from infected dogs urine. Also it is important to check stool samples regularly for internal parasites that can be invisible to your eye but your pet can pick them up on their feet and lick their feet and get some intestinal parasites. You can bring one in and drop it off and we can read it. Placing them on a good heartworm preventative, generally takes care of most roundworms too. Give us a call and we can help you with all of this.

Tapeworm can be a problem for our pets. They can get them from chewing a flea or eating raw or undercooked meat with tapeworm cysts or ingesting rodents. They may look like small white rice like segments around the a**l area or you may see them in their stools. They are generally easy to treat, but if left long enough, your pet can become symptomatic.

POISON HEMLOCK
This plant is deadly and has been spotted in a Dog park In LAKEWOOD.

It doesn’t only affect animals, but humans too.
It causes suffocation in both humans and Animals.

If you happen to spot this on any trail, report to the management in the area.

While most dangerous when consumed, it causes problems even absorbed through skin or inhaled.!!
Please be Aware during your walks this summer 🐾

Let’s talk Ear Infections…. 👀🐶
Very common in dogs and even our cats.
Mostly seen in our floppy eared friends.
If not treated, they can become a problem.
YES, they are treatable and fixable.
It doesn’t only require proper medication, but it requires proper attention and care by your vet, and of course, you.

Ignoring the yucky smell coming from your dogs ears, or the brown goop in their ears can lead to an infection.

Lets get these ears cleaned 🧼👏🏽🐱🐶

Keep and eye on your pets nails, sometimes playing hard or running around in the back yard can mean there is a possibility of getting a toe nail caught in something. Specially when they’re longer than they should be.

🐈‍⬛Yesterday Daniela one of our vet techs visited a preschool in Arvada and gave a presentation about the importance of proper care for our pets. 🐕

The students learned about canine and feline teeth, ears and a little about X-rays.

They got to see displays and fun pictures.

Age doesn’t matter when it comes to loving our furry friends 🎁🤎
