White Star German Shepherds is a small breeding program located in the quiet suburb of Lancaster, New York. Our puppies are family raised in our home and are played with and loved throughout each and every day. From the day they are born, we start immediate human contact/stimulation with an extensive socializing program until the day they leave us for their forever homes. First and foremost, our w
hite german shepherds are bred for health and temperment.. Bred for intelligence, our dogs are capable for any purpose ~ working dog, therapy dog work, conformation, obedience, and search and rescue. They are excellent with children and make great family security dogs. Many years ago, I bred dogs to include Irish Setters and Bloodhounds. Life took over which forced me to put my breeding program on hold and concentrate on raising my two children while pursuing a higher education. Now that life has settled in a bit, now allows me the opportunity once again to pursue my compassion which is a love for dogs. As a small child, my mother told me I would bring home all sorts of animals. From dogs, to cats, to guinea pigs, etc. Then when I grew up, I brought home people...........
In 1998, I had the opportunity to travel to Frankfurt, Germany to bring back a Schutzhund trained dog to assist me in my job working in law enforcement. I brought back a 7 month old black & tan german shepherd named Eik. We enjoyed many many years training with the Buffalo Schutzhund Club and trialing at their events. After losing Eik in November 2010, I swore I would not get another german shepherd. Shortly thereafter, I met Kelly Nash and the next thing you know, I have another german shepherd. His name is Major. I decided to switch gears and train Major for therapy dog work. He is amazing when he works with my law enforcement officers, and other first responders. While attending a dog show, I met this inspiring woman who had two of the most gorgeous dogs I have ever seen. It was the first time I had ever seen a white german shepherd. I feel in Love and had to have one. Through my research met a wonderful woman Linda Machorro from Poughkeepsie, NY. Shortly thereafter, we found Milania and brought her home. Within the first year of her life, she obtained her Canine Good Citizen Certification (CGC), passed her Therapy Dog International test (TDI), and became a UKC Champion in just two shows. By end of the year 2013, Milania has three Grand Champion wins toward her Grand Champion status. Milania has inspired me to once again pursue my love and passion of breeding dogs. Ultimately our goal is to produce healthy, even tempered dogs while following closely guidelines and code of ethics for responsible breeding. Here at White Star we believe integrity, trust and reputation is the essence of any good breeding program. Sophia came as a surprise from a local friend of mine Lena Ralston from Victorious White Shepherds. This pup is out of her beautiful Joy and juel's Return to Sanity, CGC, OFA Excellent Hips/Normal Elbows, DM Normal, Thyroid Normal, cardiac Normal, Full dentition, MDR1 Normal. Sophie is DM and MDR1 Normal by parentage. We proudly co-own this beautiful girl with Lena. Our goal is to train Sophia in obedience, Conformation, therapy service and Schutzhund. She will make a great addition to our Guarding Hearts Therapy Dog Program. Sophia has a great temperament that is outgoing and playful, yet with a wisp of independence that is characteristic to confident dogs. She is very affectionate and loves to be with her people. This girl has a wonderful play and food drive and she is a natural retriever. We can't wait to see what this gorgeous pup will accomplish in the future. Sophia has an excellent balanced structure, Very good pigment and excellent bone. She has a Beautiful large head and excellent top line, great front and rear assembly with excellent movement. Sophia is our future White Star! July 2013, at the age of 3 months, we entered Sophia in her first Conformation Show. Sophia won first place for BEST PUPPY! In November of 2013,when Sophia was just little over 6 months and her first real show, she took two competition wins winning best of Female then took Best of Breed against an adult dog. She certainly has a promising career in conformation and obedience. We hope that by year end of 2013 she will test and pass her canine Good Citizen Test and join our therapy dog program.
