It’s the eve of Clear The Shelters! To celebrate, we interviewed Polar Pop to learn more about his background and get him excited to find his forever family this weekend! Polar Pop is a 5 year old handsome man that is ready to be the next beloved member in your family. Take him home for NO ADOPTION FEE starting tomorrow!
Every aspect of our shelter is a valuable resource for our dogs and potential adopters. All donations make a difference whether it’s something small like a toy or big like the astroturf that our dogs use to decompress.
Just a few days before the canine flu resulted in the shelter closing dog operation, 2 of our superstar volunteers, Asa and Corinne put some of our dogs to the test to see who would be willing to join forces for a group handshake. Some of you may know this as the “hands in” challenge. Since then, several participants have had happy endings. Norman, and Little Big are still waiting for their forever homes. This weekend is Clear The Shelters, so you can snatch these guys up for waived adoption fees and go hands in with them on a new life!
Ever wonder how we keep hundreds of occupied kennels clean? Some fresh air while our dogs get a clean start for the day does the trick!
Animal Control is a department that doesn’t always get the credit it deserves. These hard working men and women work tirelessly to stop abuse and neglect and keep animals in happy healthy homes. Follow Officer Ferreri through her day as an Animal Control Officer and catch just a glimpse of this profession. If you have a question or complaint about a specific case, please contact us directly.

The time has come!! Many of our dogs have regained their health after battling the canine influenza virus. We aren’t completely cured yet, so dogs that have swabbed healthy, will be available for WAIVED adoption at pet stores throughout the county. Starting THIS WEDNESDAY! Come say hello to some happy, healthy, ready to go dogs off-site. We will be at Pet Supplies Plus in Land O Lakes this Wednesday (6/26) from 1-4pm. And Pet Supermarket in Zephyrhills Friday and Saturday (6/28, 6/29) from 11am-3pm. These dogs have been through enough at the shelter and are ready to go home. Spread the word, or maybe consider adopting yourself. We couldn’t do it without your support.
Meet Henry the wonder cat! After months of defying the odds he’s looking for a home that will give him the stability he needs to finish his healing process. At only 3 years old, Henry found himself fighting for his life after being left with no food or water for an unbelievable amount of time. This lucky cat felt the power of PCAS’ incredible volunteers when volunteer veterinarian Brianna Aquino donated her expertise in acupuncture which was the turning point for Henry’s life. Now that Henry is stable, he still gets stressed with new places so we are on the search for his forever and final family. Henry is looking for a kind heart that is ready to be a part of the next step of his journey. If you know that you can provide the consistency and stability that Henry so desperately has been fighting for, come make an appointment to visit him at the shelter today! #Pascoproud
🚨URGENT🚨We are in desperate need of kitten fosters TODAY. The support from our community has been immense while we work to regain our dog population health, and today, we ask for just a little more. There are 20 kittens in our shelter who need fosters. Opening your home can be a life saving gift as illness spreads quickly in shelters and young immune systems are the first to suffer. If you can foster, please visit our shelter today. We are leaning on our community heavily during this time and every moment of kindness you can give is life changing to these animals. Share this video and get these kittens seen. Together, we can do this. #Pascoproud
Our dog operations may be on hold but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any furry friends who are ready to go home! Cat operations remain open and we have lots of cats and kittens who are hoping that this is their time to shine. If you aren’t ready to adopt, consider becoming a Rapid Response Kitten Foster. These fosters are relied on heavily as we continue to brave kitten season. Check out the application here: https://mypas.co/RapidResponseFosterApp Finally, if you aren’t quite ready to have a kitty friend in your home, the shelter is always in need of Kitten Meal Replacer (KMR) this is life saving kitten formula that can be found at pet stores and online. If you are looking to help, donating a can of KMR can make all the difference while we care for hundreds of kittens throughout the season.

Your support is so appreciated.
We feel the highest highs and the lowest lows in animal welfare. Amidst what can sometimes feel like an ocean of heartbreak, and cruelty, these faces are what push us to fight for what’s good. Come see our adoptable animals and be a part of the good.
We are proud to carry the Save 90 status. This status is a mission of ours and is the reason we get to see so many animals go on to live incredible lives in the face of adversity. The goal is not to just call ourselves “no kill” but to produce as many positive outcomes for animals when they leave our shelter. There are many ways you can support your local Save 90 efforts. Check out our website to learn more. www.my Pasco.net/PAS
Despite being on the News 4 times, being highlighted by our County Media team, and being a staff and volunteer favorite, Duke is still at the shelter and has been for almost 450 days. If you are looking for a happy go lucky social dog, visit Duke at Pasco County Animal Services! #LongestResident
