Its here!!!! Amargosa Days Festival is here again!!!!
(RIDERS OF ALL AGES AND SKILL LEVEL WELCOME)

Sign up starts at 5:30pm and closes at 7pm
Mutton Busting at 6pm
Barrel race at 7pm
Keyhole and Poles are after Barrels

This year we will have the following events:
🐑 Mutton Busting $5/entry (55lb weight limit)
🔑 Keyhole $5/entry
💈 Poles $5/entry
🛢💵 JACKPOT BARREL RACE $25/entry
$20 goes to the pot, $5 arena fee
We will have a tractor with an arena rake on it to drag the arena before the event and after every 5 runs. We also have arena timers that will record times. Running order will be determined upon check in.

All entry fees are CASH ONLY!!!! Check in and pay entry fees at the announcers booth on the day of the event!! The more riders we get the larger the pot so invite all your friends!!

Due to weather conditions the March gumkhana has been canceled. Please join us on April 27th at 7pm for our next event!!!! There will be a festival in our town that weekend some come enjoy the day and ride your horses in the evening!!!!

WERE BACK AT IT!!!!

After some time off from events to expand on our buisness we're back at it! To kick off the year right were hosting our first event of 2024!!! We will have food and drinks for sale! We will have prizes for the fastest rider in each pattern!

RIDERS OF ALL AGES AND SKILL LEVEL WELCOME! No dress code! Come as you are!

February 24th at 11am!!
6 patterns for $40
If you wish to enter more than one horse it's an additional $5/horse.
We will do the following patterns!

Pulling into our ranch sometimes makes me feel like I went back in time. As I watch our herd of horses graze on the sagebrush it is a peaceful sight that reminds me of when the herds of wild horses would roam through this valley.

How many of you guys get fuzzy horses like our senior citizen Oscar? He is a husky in horse clothing!! Come spring this is going to be a work out to groom! He does make the perfect snuggle partner on cold windy days like today!

We're back at it! Waylon has started this new project horse she is a young mustang that hasn't been handled. She is a blank slate ready to learn. Stay with us for regular updates on her progress!

Working on Shiloh this beautiful day! She has been getting into fights with her herd lately so hoping some one on one attention is all she was missing. Just some nice easy fun no pressure!

I'm so sorry to all who planned on coming we had to cancel our event this month, but we will be back!!! Enjoy your holiday season with those you love most and we will be back next year with bigger and better things!! We took Antareas out of the round pen and out in the open he was nervous at first but did very well and listened to all the turning cues Waylon was giving.

Yesterday Antares got to graduate out of the round pen and the small training area we have and got to go to the more open desert. He did so well and wasn't distracted by the trucks, hose, or lawn mower. He stayed focused and listened to every cue he was given to walk, turn, and stand. He is progressing quite nicely and seems alot more comfortable with the new tack Waylon is training him in

Antares is turn much easier now so yesterday was all about turning and new environments. We switched riders yesterday and Becca (an intermediate and more timid rider) worked with him in the round pen and out in the desert. The goal here was to get him used to a different rider than just Waylon.

Antareas got to do some training outside the round pen the other day. Once he was out of the round pen he showed some hesitation with turning and was fighting Waylon. We decided to switch up some of his tack and pull out our buddy horse to help make him more comfortable. This helped comfort him but he still showed some stubbornness towards turning. We have been working on this with him regularly so stay tuned for updates on his progress and watch him learn. He picks things up very fast and is very good a communicating with Waylon on what he likes and doesn't like so we can adjust his training accordingly to give him a positive learning experience.

On Sunday after working with Antares for a couple days we were able to have multiple riders mount and dismount off him with minimal movement and without a rodeo bucking show! He is learning quickly.

On Friday Antares got his first ride with us here at 6 Star and he gave Waylon quite the rodeo! After some wild bucks he eventually settled down but he ended that training day with some wet saddle pads.

Meet Antares! This guy has come to us to have his training finished. He knows some things but his training just needs to be taken to the finish line. When he's done he will be the perfect western trail horse for his owner.
