Welcome to Snyder-Wood Pet Services! We are a family-owned business ran by Jordin (age 7) and Mom. We provide many services and look to add more as we go!

Can't wait to have you as a client! Jordin is an almost 8-year-old boy with unmedicated ADHD who loves hard with his whole heart, which is where his love of caring for animals has come from. He is funny, creative, outgoing, friendly, giving, and nothing short of amazing! When asked to describe himself, he says, "I am nice." He is the younger brother to an amazing 14-year-old sister who he shares a

n amazing bond with. With his sister he likes to play Roblox, play games, cuddle, watch movies, and talk with her. He shares his pet-sitting business with his 44-year-old, solo-parent mama who loves watching him care for all of his clients. With his mom, Jordin loves to talk, cuddle, watch tv, build logos, and wrestle. Jordin likes to "just chill" with his dad. With his friends, he loves to be himself and "just hang out" because they understand him. Jordin loves playing video games, read, playing with his friends. His favorite shows/movies are Scooby Doo, everything on Netflix (lol), Puss and Boots, No Time to Spy, Inside Out 2, Captain Underpants Movie. His favorite music group is Imagine Dragons. He hopes to meet them one day! Jordin now reads chapter books and loves comic books, com stories, adventure stories, friendly stories, and fairy tales. In the summer he loves jumping on the trampoline, fireworks, sleep overs, the beach, hanging with friends, and his clients. If Jordin could live on these foods - mac and cheese, KFC, corn on the cob, cantaloupe, lemon aide, shrimp, and popsicles - he would be happy!

Jordin LOVES ❤ Legos! It is something he does in his spare time with mom. Jordin loves building Legos with Sissy when she has time.

With Jordin's ADHD he often starts Lego sets and does not finish them lol 😂

We have a jeep we are in the middle of; an orchid we are in the middle of; motor vehicle sets; Mario world half built set; Star wars started; and some random sets.

Mom loves the Lego flowers much better than real flowers! I have the sunflowers and orchids and hope to add to my collection over time.

Building Legos helps with J's ADHD by helping him focus. We never spend more than 30-45 minutes at a time. Most of the time he bounces on his rubber ball or paces while he works.

Overnight pet sitting is not an easy task with 2 kiddos. Although this is not our exact vehicle as I forget to take pics often. This does depict how our vehicle often looks on a night away from home.

Jordin's favorite animal is cats. He loves how independent they are and the fact that they do not "jump" on him.

When Jordin was an infant, his parents decided to get a puppy. A husky of all things. That was due to my love of huskies and always wanting one. (I still do).

We got Chloe when she was only a few months old. She was a spirited pup. Got into everything. Chewed everything. She even had us calling the fire department when she wedged herself behind the radiator.

We had to make the rough decision after training sessions gone wrong, that Chloe would be better suited elsewhere. Chloe had drug Jordin down the stairs not once, but 2 times. And not in a nice way. Between an infant and a puppy, it was not a good fit.

It was a very rough decision for me. But the best for Chloe.

Over the years Jordin has displayed a fear of larger dogs. I often wonder if this was from those incidents. He loves attempting to pet dogs and he will talk to them. He feeds and waters them and will try to interact with toys. But he is still afraid of large dogs. He is working hard on it little by little. He has the heart for it.

For now he handles the smaller dogs, cats, other pets, and food/water/treats. Mom handles the larger dogs until he is ready.

Meet Maple!

We have been with Maple, providing her services for over 18 months. She is a VERY energetic puppers. We have done drops ins, play time, and walks with Maple.

Jordin is working on getting over his fear of bigger dogs by getting on Maple's level and allowing her to kiss him and sit with him.

Giana will most likely not be featured in most of our pictures, but she LOVES spending time with Maple.

Currently we offer:
🐾Dog walking on half hour and hour time frames
🐾 Pet sitting services in your home for a variety of animals
🐾 Drop-Ins for play, welfare checks, medications, feed and water
🐾 Cat litter (cast based on number of times a day)

We offered pet sitting in our home for 2 years but currently we can not do so at this time. We are hoping to move within the next few months (still in Latrobe). We will be looking to return to pet sitting in our home at that time.

Jordin has ADHD. He was diagnosed when he was 6 through his counselor at school. If you ask me, I have always known. It was written in the stars. He would "clean" the house at 6-8 months by sliding on a Swiffer mop. He has always talked a mile a minute.

Jordin is unmedicated per his choice. I support that 100%. Even with how hard it is at times to be on the go with him, I would never dim his spirit by medicated him. Trust me, it is HARD! Often I have to take breaks and breath outside. Keeping him engaged in rough But i would never forgive myself if his big heart and funny personality were dimmed.

He is so funny and sweet. He is the kid that says please and thank you. He holds the door for everyone. He has an amazing love for life and is inquisitive about everything. He asks a MILLION questions. He talks a mile a minute. He lives by rules and morals.

Along with ADHD, Jordin has an adjustment disorder and anxiety. Jordin has bi-weekly therapy through school.

Jordin interacts well with his clients and focuses hard on his work when he is "on the clock". His favorite animal is cats though.

1. Hydration: Provide your pet with plenty of fresh, clean drinking water at all times.
2. Shade: Ensure your pet has access to shade and shelter from direct sunlight.
3. Cool spaces: Provide a cool, well-ventilated space for your pet to rest in. You can also try using an elevated or cooling bed.
4. Water activities: Provide water for your pet to play in, such as a paddling pool or swimming.
6. Cooling items: Provide your pet with cooling mats, ice packs, wet towels, cooling coats, or collars. You can also try making ice treats for your pet.
7. Exercise: Avoid exercising your pet during hot weather or in the middle of the day. Instead, try walking your pet in the morning before it gets too hot, or at cooler times of the day.
8. Supervision: Never leave your pet unsupervised outside on hot days, or alone in a parked car, even with the windows cracked.
9. Watch for signs of heatstroke: Symptoms of heat exhaustion or stroke include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, rapid panting, redness in the ears, and red or pale gums.

If your pet seems to be suffering from heatstroke, move them to a cool, shaded area and immediately pour cool water over them. Tap water (15-16°C) is most effective, but any water is better than nothing in an emergency.

One of our favorite summer pastimes is painting rocks and hiding them around town for others to locate and re-hide. If you haven't participated, check out Latrobe Rocks FB page. Giana, Jordin, and I painted our rocks, wrote sayings on them, and hid them around Latrobe.

Fun Fact!

How did you develop the idea of a dog sitting business? My parents had an amazing love of animals their entire adult lives. My dad was an animal whisperer. To the point I was amazed at his passion for the wild. He was more into the deer, fish, turkey and birds. OMG! The birds. He, at one point, had 10-20 bird feeders in our yard. Bird food was his life. Then it went to feeding the squirrels. There would ALWAYS be deer, bear, turkey in the yard. All the time! To the point that since my parents have passed, I have been sent pictures from neighbors of deer in the yard.

My mom was the dog lover. She had been rescuing dogs since before I was born. Giving them to her mom, keeping them, rehoming them. Her favorite of all time were the collies. One month after I was born, her dog, Sunshine, gave birth to an entire litter and we kept one - Shadow. And they were Sunshine and Shadow through and through. My mom had a love for nature and the elements. After Sunshine and Shadow, we had Rainbow (a collie), Star (a schnauzer mix) and Angel (a golden retriever. We always had dogs my entire life (and cats). Our home was never without them. Side note, out of all 1 million dogs we had over my life, Rainbow was the only certified dog from the breeder. All the rest were rescues or shelter dogs.

I house hopped and traveled so much of my life I never had my own pet. I shared roommates dogs and boyfriends dogs. I was never settled in one place long or was adult enough to have my own pet. When I was in my 20s, an ex of mine and I moved to Maryland and I got my first cat - MY OWN cat. KitKat. I adored this evil cat! And he was evil! lol We were inseparable. In 2020, he was only 13 or maybe 14, and during Covid I had to say goodbye to him due to kidney failure. Then in maybe 2014 we got Meeka (our mini poodle). Please say prayers for her. Our Meeka is not well in her old age and i am sure her days are getting shorter. In 2023 we got Mosey, a VERY fat cat. She and I go rounds and rounds. lol We also have Mo Mo (Simone) a guinea pig. I guess I should throw in here that both Mo Mo (Mosey) and Meeka were rehomed animals from 2 friends that had to move on with their lives. And KitKat was a shelter cat. So, in mom's memory, I too love the well-loved pets.

We, as a family started watching friend's pets in our home and other's homes for 2 years at least. And we loved it! It was soooooooooo easy. So, we opened our business in about 2021. We did well until 2023 when mom (me) started to become overwhelmed with my grief process to compounded grieving episodes and we had some family things going on.

So - long story, longer. We are back!

Look for us to expand after buying our forever home, moving, and getting settled. We are talking, licensing, branding, LLC, all the things. We will be adding shirts, stickers, decals and other merchandise. Our services will include boarding and light grooming.
