Winter in action!
Slow motion Great Pyrenees in action! This is Winter defending the chickens. Must turn in the sound to appreciate the slow motion bark!
Another Prince update. He’s getting better at staying further away from the sheep and pretty good at stop and sit on command. He is getting closer to coming home!
Another progress report on Prince. His skills are improving. We are two months into the training process and his herding style is becoming more relaxed and his excitability level is coming down. He will now sit on command a comfortable distance from the sheep and he will also confidently buy. It aggressively confront stragglers to send them back to the flock. This video from today. Apologies for the graininess but it’s hard for his trainer to take video and coach him at the same time.
Visited Prince today. He keeps improving and learning new things. Penning today. I didn’t capture the complete end result because the wind was freezing my fingers but he went on to get the strays and steadily eyeball them and back them in the pen. He’s still very energetic and need to work on toning down the enthusiasm a bit but he’s doing great for a young boy.
Th LGDs, Winter and Frost usually are working and serious about their job but they still occasionally make time for some fun. They are magnificent beasts!
One week into English Shepherd, Prince’s training. Sherry Moss is doing a great job with him! We went for a little visit tonight. We have been missing him.
English Shepherd, Prince, on one of his maiden herding runs with cheviot sheep! Since his trainer did not have a helper, it was pretty hard to get a good video and still help Prince (and he needs help for sure as a rookie!) but still I couldn’t help post the video. Such a good boy!
