My name is Dr. Amanda Craft and I am the proud new owner of Animal Haven which is located at what was previously known as Minnesota Veterinarian Associates of Little Falls.
I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself so you have my background when you bring your pets to me for their care.
I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was raised on a small cattle ranch called Pine Springs Ranch. This is where I connected with my true passion in life, compassionate care for animals. My Dad wholeheartedly encouraged my passion, and I learned that it was possible to turn my love for animals into a career when I first met our ranch’s Veterinarian.
After I finished kindergarten my family moved to Little Falls, MN and purchased Royal Farms, a large potato farm in Royalton, MN. Growing up and working on our family farm, I developed a solid work ethic, however I always held close to my heart my dream of becoming an animal doctor. I always stayed focused on my education and gained experience with animals whenever I could.
After high school, I attended the University of Minnesota and completed the required education to obtain my license to become a Veterinarian. During this time, I met my husband Randy and he became a huge supporter for me as he quickly learned that nothing was going to get in my way of accomplishing my dream. I obtained valuable experience in my profession working for a corporate veterinary practice in the Twin Cities, but felt at home when I returned to Morrison County to practice medicine 6 years later.
I felt such gratitude to become the Veterinarian for so many special people in my life - lifelong friends, teachers, employers, coworkers and most importantly my family. After 7 years of working for Minnesota Veterinary Associates, I made the difficult decision to leave Little Falls and practice in Sartell, MN. During the 2 years that I was there, I worked hard to revamp my education and skills, learning updated medical practices, new-age technology and veterinarian practice management. Most importantly, I discovered that my heart still belonged to Little Falls and the people that live here; not only as a Veterinarian, but also as a practice owner, and proud member of our wonderful community. I yearned to be back in Little Falls, so my husband and I approached Minnesota Veterinary Associates and inquired about purchasing their Little Falls clinic. During my years of working at Minnesota Veterinary Associates I developed a strong sense of “feeling at home,” both with my co-workers and with the clients. Luckily, they were open to the idea of selling the business to us, and over the next year we worked with several key people to develop a business plan and obtain financing within our community allowing me to return to the place I loved; but this time as the proud, new owner of Animal Haven.
It would be an honor to me for you to trust myself and my team with the care of your beloved pets. In 2019, I’ve been in practice for nearly 16 years and my team has a combined over 75 years of experience in Veterinary Medicine. Given this opportunity, we will provide qualified, compassionate care to treat each of your fur family members as if they were our own.
Thank you,
Amanda Craft, DVM
