Do you recognize this sweet girl? She was found on Hickory Grove rd. Our kennels are full right now, so she is in the care of the finder, and we would like to help reunite her with her family
Introducing Leo and LeAnn. These two precious pups were found abandoned on a roadway with Lacey. All three know how to sit when asked and are super sweet. They love being around other dogs and are very silly and playful.
Meet sweet Lacy. This precious girl came in with two pups that she lovingly looked out for while left abandoned on a roadway. Lacy is approximately 2 years old and the most gentlest girl ever. She loves to sit and scoot to you for ear scratches and belly rubs
Here is just a little reminder of all the beautiful dogs that we have that are patiently waiting for homes
Large Scale Animal Cruelty / Neglect Investigation and Rescue Operation
Madison County Sheriff David Harper reports the conclusion of an investigation conducted by his Animal Services Division within the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. On Wednesday September 18, 2024, Investigators of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office assisted by Animal Services Officers conducted a search warrant at the home of Matthew Donalies located at 610 SE Askew Avenue in Madison. The search warrant was the result of an investigation into animal cruelty and neglect and the deplorable conditions in which numerous dogs were being kept. Investigators had determined that there were many dogs (including newborn puppies), mostly rat terriers, chihuahuas, and mixed breeds located on the property but was surprised by the exact number located. In anticipation of needing assistance with medical treatment and rescue shelter placement, MCSO Animal Services staff enlisted and coordinated additional resources from Animal Rescue Corps based in Washington, DC. Upon arrival, the property owner, Matthew Donalies was placed under arrest without incident. The investigation determined that Donalies had been operating a backyard breeding mill and had been selling dogs via the internet for several years. After securing the arrest, the rescue operation began. A large triage station was set up that included veterinary staff and members of the Animal Rescue Corps. The rescue operation lasted nearly twelve hours as the dogs were captured and removed from the property. A total of 146 dogs and one kitten were successfully rescued. Nearly every dog captured suffered from various illnesses and injuries including internal and external parasites, eye infections, abscessed teeth, overgrown nails, and other untreated injuries.
All the dogs from this investigation were transported to ARC’s Rescue Center, about 30 miles east of Nashville Tennessee. Each animal in this rescue operation will receive a thorough veterinary exam, appropriate vaccinations, and necessary medical treatment, time to heal and recover before matched and transported to trusted shelters and rescue partner organizations that will ultimately adopt them into loving homes.
“Addressing animal cruelty and neglect is a responsibility we take with utmost seriousness, recognizing that animals are victims too. I am extremely proud of my investigators and Animal Services staff for their hard work and dedication to the voiceless animals in Madison County each day. I am thankful for the support we receive from the community in our mission to address the uncared-for animal population. I am also very grateful to Animal Rescue Corps for providing the crucial resources necessary to ensure the safety of these animals and for supporting our community in protecting animals.” Sheriff David Harper

Autumn has been officially adopted and is going back home to play with Oliver who was adopted last week
"Puppy" went from sad and depressed to jumping up and down and happy crying the minute her dad walked in. She is so happy to be heading home to her family.

Almost exactly a month ago, we were called out to a residence for someone who had, sadly, passed away. This gentleman had lived alone with just his dogs. With no close family and nowhere else to go, we brought all four dogs in. We were able to secure a rescue for three senior chihuahuas that were in need of medical help. However, Chumlee was younger and not well socialized. His whole life was spent in one home with his dad. As can be expected, he was completely shut down and depressed. His whole world changed in an instant that night.
One of our officers took a special interest in Chumlee and decided to foster him at home to help him overcome his depression.
Now, it was time to find Chumlee a permanent home. One of Officer Moser's dear friends had recently suffered tragedy in his life. After seeing photos posted by Officer Moser and his family about Chumlee and his story, he asked about meeting Chumlee.
It is a match! Chumlee is traveling all the way to Pennsylvania with the help of Officer Moser's family. Together him and his new dad will be able to help each other to heal and live a life full of love. Let's all wish Chumlee and his new dad the best as they learn together how to start life again.
Gus is back home with his family
Urgent need to find the owners of this poor old boy. He is injured and being checked out. But he really needs his family. Found on sundown creek rd
With these beautiful and soulful eyes, how can someone not fall in love with this sweet girl. She is absolutely filled with love and such an easygoing girl. Grace will snuggle and be the best bed warmer as we soon come into cooler weather.
Tarzan came in with his mom a few weeks ago. He was severely underweight and had lots of missing hair and abrasions. Tarzan has been steadily gaining healthy weight, and his skin is gradually healing. This sweet little boy had such a rough start in life and deserves nothing but pure love and affection to show him that not all humans are bad. He is approximately 6 months old and looking for a family to grow up with. Tarzan is a short guy, possibly stunted in growth due to lack of nutrients but we expect him to stay a medium-sized dog as he grows
Kala is a sweet and gentle girl. Both her and her son were found abandoned a few weeks ago. Emaciated and missing hair, they were very depressed and seemed to have given up hope. Now that they have their weight back and the hair is almost completely grown back, their spirits are lifted, and Kala has that special glow in her eyes. Please help find this wonderful momma a special home to show her that life can be beautiful and filled with love.
Bandit is an adorable and very intelligent border collie mix. He is approximately 10 months old and looking for a family to love and play with. Additional picture in the comments
Miss Donaldson adopted Reese from us a few weeks ago. After some time to let him adjust, something still felt like it was missing. Today she came back for Reese's mom, Dove! Dove doesn't know that she is on her way to be reunited with her son and live a life full of love 💕 .
Happy Friday the 13th! Welcome to the beginning of Spooky Season!
While black cats are often pictured as the "Spooky Cat"🐈⬛ in most Halloween type photos we currently don't have any. What we do have are several fully vetted Black dogs! These dogs have had all of their vaccines and are already fully vetted.
So let's celebrate 🎉 the beginning of Spooky season and change the superstition about Friday the 13th by offering free adoptions to any of our fully vetted Black dogs today! We will be here until 4pm. Let's get these guys some homes!
Oliver was officially adopted today, and he decided to take home a friend! The adorable little kitten that came in yesterday will be in a foster home through stray hold and then hopefully adopted!
It's definitely been a busy day and the kennels are filling up very quickly. This one came in off of hawks Avenue
Axel is a handsome and playful boy who has been with us since January. He is now fully vetted, hw negative and neutered. The only thing Axel is missing is YOU!
Duke....The handsome gentleman that was found injured on Rocky Ford rd about a month ago. He is all healed up now looking for a family.
Turkey is a wonderful pointer mix. He is approximately 2-3 years old and has been getting along with most dogs here
Sylvester came to us two weeks ago as an emaciated boy. He is doing much better now and looking for a furever home. Sylvester appears to be between 1-2 years old black lab mix.

Brought in from Capan Rd in Greenville
Tigger and Axel are absolutely stunning boys. They are currently at UF today (9-11-24), getting neutered. We would love to have furever homes lined up for them to finally call their own.
Axel is approximately a year and a half old and has the most stunning ice blue eyes. He is a fun-loving and playful guy. He has been in our care since January 13th. He was originally found behind O'Reilly Auto parts.
Tigger is also approximately a year and a half old. He is a medium-sized boy who loves to snuggle. With his one ear up and the other that can't decide what to do, he is full of character. Tigger came into our care after being found as a stray on NW Spaniel way on May 7th.
Please share these handsome boys and let help them find a loving home.
Brought in together off of Farm rd
This mother and son pair were found on NE Caraway Trail
Sending out another huge thank you to Faithful Friends Pet Rescue and Rehoming for taking in the ones that still need time. This momma and her babies will not be available for several weeks and will, of course, need more care and veterinary services before they can be adopted. The three terriers are learning to trust people but also would do better in a foster environment. They needed more time to decompress.
We are so thankful for rescues that are willing to take in the ones who need more time and effort.
Thank you again to Mike and Sylvia for volunteering a second time this week to drive these wonderful pets to their rescues.
Found on NE Hickory Grove rd. Currently in the care of the finder

Sheriff David Harper and the Madison County Sheriff's Office Animal Services staff and our shelter dogs want to take a moment to thank Lori Korn for the wonderful donation of these cooling misters. We have them all installed, and as you can see, the dogs are loving the cool mist and the difference in temperature they provide.
After 2 long years D.O.G. has been reunited with his favorite person. Thankfully her mom never gave up looking. He went missing from his yard just across the state line. This young girl was his favorite person when he went missing and it didn't take long for him to remember her and show how much he missed her
We have been focusing on the puppies alot so we want to take a moment to remind everyone about our discount adoption fees this month. We still have 8 sponsorships available! Miss Georgia is one of them. She is spayed and looking for a loving home. Wave 👋 to this silly girl!
Good morning everyone. The rainbow litter is doing well and wanted to wish everyone a happy weekend. We have 4 puppies heading to a rescue tomorrow morning and the remaining three will be in a foster home today! We are hoping to be able to send the remaining puppies to a rescue as soon as they confirm another foster
We wanted to share two videos to show why fosters and rescues are so important. Do you remember the mopey little chihuahua found outside of CVS or the very skinny senior dog with the snaggle teeth grin. Look at them now! Special thanks to The Humane Society of North Central Florida and their fosters for helping these two seniors find love and life again. Second video posted in the comments, along with their intake photos
